Catch up with our UK and US Northern Nights guests

Northern Nights guests

Northern Nights are celebrating their 9th Anniversary on QVC UK by bringing together their stateside and UK guests on-air together, for the first time! We caught up with sisters Serine and Kari from the US, and our Susie and Sam, for a good old girlie chat about their exciting jobs as QVC guest hosts over the years.

How long have you worked with Northern Nights and what are your best and worst memories so far?

Susie Adams Susie Adams:
I've been involved with the brand since 2002, this year will be my 8th anniversary. I only have wonderful memories, although my first Today's Special Value show was pretty terrifying.

Which QVC presenters do you most enjoy working with?

SA: All of them because I know how difficult it is to make the shows look effortless. They have been great fun over the years (you should see what happens when the cameras are turned off!).

What can we look forward to seeing from the Northern Nights anniversary shows?

SA: As well as a new TSV from the supima linen range, you'll also see the full Northern Nights team on-air together – now that should be fun!

How long have you worked with Northern Nights and what are your best memories so far?

Sam-Doubledee Sam Doubledee: I've been working with the Northern Nights team for over 3 years, but have been an on-air guest for 2 and a half years. One of my best memories is a show I did last year on Christmas Eve with Julian Ballantyne. It was such good fun, everyone feeling festive and I think I laughed for most of the hour. No bad moments so far!

We have so many great brands at QVC – what are your favourite products and which can't you live without?

SD: As well as Northern Nights, I adore Liz Earle Skincare, swear by the Ultrasun sun protection range and love cook's essentials saucepans. When I'm on-air I use Bare Escentuals, Smashbox Photo Finish, and Nails Inc. The whole family is having a great deal of fun sorting out all our old photos on a Hewlett Packard Photosmart Wireless Printer from QVC!

How long have you worked with Northern Nights and what are your best and worst memories so far?

Serine from NN Serine Steinnes: I've worked with Northern Nights for 15 years in both the States and in the UK. One of my best memories so far is all of the wonderful people that I have had the opportunity to work with across three countries. Working with my younger sister, Kari, has also been great fun, especially when we lock ourselves in a room to try and create new product ideas! I don't think I have a worst memory, but I do remember getting snowed in at QVC in the US one night in the winter years ago.

What is it like being a guest presenter on QVC? Do you ever get nervous?

SS: I love being a guest presenter on QVC. No two days or sells are ever the same, the people are fantastic, and I strongly believe in the message that Northern Nights delivers. I love bringing all of the knowledge that I've acquired over the last 16 years with Pacific Coast Feather Company to my on-air shows at QVC. I don't think I really get nervous before shows anymore, but I do still get that tingling bit of excitement!

What can we look forward to seeing from the Northern Nights anniversary shows?

SS: We hope to bring a full range of products for your bed that will help to transform the way you sleep. Nothing rejuvenates you like a wonderful night's rest, and we want to make sure you sleep in luxury!

How long have you worked with Northern Nights and what are your best and worst memories so far?

Kari from NN Kari Steinnes: My sister, Serine, convinced me to start working with her over ten years ago. My most memorable moments will always be of working side by side with my sister to develop products inspired by our customers.  This has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career.

My worst memory is also one of my funniest. I remember being live on air with Dale Franklin and saying something that I later realised did not translate correctly from an American saying to a British audience. Dale's face turned white and he said "Kari is from America and not everything translates between our two countries". I can't repeat the phrase now, but trust me, the meaning in the States is far more innocent!

What are your favourite QVC products?

KS: I am a big fan of Philosophy and cook's essentials.

Don't miss Susie Adams and the rest of the girls on Northern Nights 9th Anniversary shows, on Monday 23rd and Tuesday 24th August.

I love northern nights and have it in all the rooms in my home, and my son’s love it when they come home to visit. I have one request, can you make the sheet sets with a fitted sheet and a flat sheet as I like to use both at the same time as it make’s the bed finished and saves washing the duvet cover every week.Looking forward to the Anniversary show as I know I will be tempted again. Thanks for a great product and value for money you can’t get anywhere else.

I just wondered if you have considered selling sheets sets (fitted and flat) to match the duvet covers, as I have a double bed but use a king size quilt,so at the moment I have not purchased any of the bed linen as most sets are just for double or king size bed and not seperates.

I love it when Northern Nights is on QVC. You have some beautiful products. However, I also wish that you would sell flat and fitted sheets to match the duvet sets, as I am not a duvet person, and prefer sheets and a quilt.I am in the process of re-decorating my bedroom, and you have just the colour I am looking for but its in the duvet range. How frustrating!!

    Hello Ladies,
Thank you for taking the time to write to us. We have always brought you sheet sets, we are in the process of creating new lines for the future. Enjoy making your bedrooms beautiful, there is nothing like crisp clean linens.
    Lots of love
