My son started secondary school last week and we were concerned that with the extra pressures and an earlier start to the day he would be really tired. He has real trouble getting to sleep at night and can lie there for several hours before he finally drops off. When I was talking to Sam Doubledee about our featherbed and pillow set that was a TSV the other week, it occurred to me that I should try the Northern Nights route (after all we had tried everything else!).
I ordered a single featherbed and pair of pillows and my son started to eagerly look forward to their arrival. When they did arrive it was but minutes before they were on his bed and he was looking forward to trying them out. I remember his comment just before going to bed: "Dad, I'll be sleeping in a five start bed tonight!".
Well, they say the proof of the pudding is in the eating and as my son doesn't work for QVC I expected a brutally honest appraisal. I was at work the next day day early so phoned around breakfast time to find out what he thought about it. He told me he fell asleep in less than 10 minutes and felt is was like he was being cuddled all night.
He loved it from that first night and he does seem to falling to sleep more readily, so Northern Nights seems to have come to the rescue! But why didn't I think of it before? Sometimes you are too close to something to see it clearly for yourself.
I hope the peaceful slumber continues, but I don't hold out much hope of it preventing the grumpy teenager stages which are due shortly… we shall see!
