‘Salam Alikome’ from Marrakesh!

Hello! Hope you are well and had a lovely Easter?

I am writing this blog from Marrakesh where I have been for the Easter weekend. A friend of mine is out here for a couple of weeks with friends for some of the time and when he invited me I was delighted to join them.

I had never been to Morocco before and what a fascinating country it is, just like I imagined; busy, bustling, colourful, spiritual and so diverse.  We stayed in the ‘Medina’ which is the old part of the city known for its souks and winding cobbled streets. Here are some photos of my visit:

In the little street just outside our Riad

My first authentic Moroccan tagine, I chose the monkfish option – yum!

The weather was hot – up to 35c on some days, thank goodness for Ultrasun and absolutely loving the new SPF30 tan activator; I have a beautiful deep tan but know I have been keeping my skin safe in the sun. I also love the eye formula and the lip protection.

Another great buy from QVC were the black Vionic trainers; we did so much walking and they are SO comfortable. I also have fallen arches and its great knowing the trainers are not only supporting my feet but helping my whole posture. Not once did I complain about my feet!

And as well as walking I was also a goody-goody and did a couple of gym routines too, again the Vionic trainers were great whilst on the treadmill.

This photo was taken at the Artisan complex – a cooperative of artists and craftspeople who sell their art, ceramics, home and earthenware at fair prices with no haggling. I loved these tiles – just so what I imagine when I think of Morocco.

I also packed my JPE Fitovers this time, what a brilliant idea they are. I do tend to keep up with emails when I am away as well as reading so having these fit over my prescription glasses made all this so much easier.

There were so many highlights of the trip and one of my favourite places for coffee and cocktails was El Fenn, a boutique hotel set in the heart of the old town. What a treat to visit the rooftop bar!

So, I return to London with lovely memories of a wonderful trip.

And back at work I look forward to getting back in the kitchen for the Ninja shows on the Today’s Special Value day and then the week after another show with the wonderful Lisa Snowdon. More on that in next weeks’ blog.

Finally, love was definitely in the air last week on the Lunchtime Show! Check out these two clips to see Katy and I pop the question to Judith on behalf of her partner Paul and then to see the answer!

For the moment sending you hugs from Morocco and see you back at the Q very soon!

Love
Craig xx

Great blog and lovely pictures. My experience of Morocco wasn’t the best. I was 11 years old. I have a snake phobia so the snake charming made life difficult. I am very fair and In those days my parents thought factor 10 was protecting me, so I burnt to a crisp. I got food poisoning and somebody offered my parents 3 camels for me! Not kidding! Glad your trip was good.

    Much love, Melissa xxx

      Hi Melissa!

Thanks for your comment and lovely to hear from you.

Wow! You really didn’t have a great time on your visit there!

That’s a shame. Luckily my experience was good.

Hope you have a great week and it would be great to hear from you on my future blogs.

      Thanks

Marrakech is a beautiful city. We went in March and had a great time, there’s so much to see. It was hot even in March and we needed our Ultrasun. We came home with a nice golden tan.
