Rosy the hamster’s handiwork!

Hello, hope you had a great Valentines Day!

I had last weekend off and have been doing all sorts. Decorating, clearing out and a general spring clean… fairly dull but much needed!

So, I was having a good tidy up and whilst doing so popped Rosy's (one of our adorable hamsters) home carefully on our bed.

Rosy's handiwork Little did I know that our duvet cover was ruffled up against the bars of Rosy's cage (I say cage; it's more like a hamster mansion, 4 stories with all the toys!). Well, you can see the result! The cover was well within her reach and well and truly shredded. I'll be honest, I found it really funny and my first concern was Rosy and that the duvet hadn't done her any harm.

And then reality kicked in, I realised it was our super-luxurious Kelly Hoppen high thread-count duvet set – oops, sorry Kelly! I will draw on my experience of being an ex-upholsterer to conjure up some form of designer patch!

I suppose from a hamster's point of view, if you're going to shred some bed linen why not make it some of the finest and do it in style! I'll pop a patch on it and turn the linen over.

There's a saying – you wait for hours for a bus to turn up then three arrive all at once. Well, I've been waiting patiently to present another hour with Simon Wilson – at least a year! I look at my schedule and I'm down to present three shows with Simon this weekend!

Take care and see you soon,

Charlie x

    Hi Charlie
I know I shouldn’t laugh but you must admit the hamster story is funny. It was probably trying to pull out the inside stuffing to make a new bed! My dog I had about 25years ago had 2 pups and whilst I got a new home for one of them I still had one at home. This pup ate the skirting boards, the hall carpet, the bedroom carpet and by know means least jumped on the bed pulled the duvet back, ate through the sheet, right through the mattress and I was confronted with a sea of stuffing from my mattress when I walked in.Never mind these things are sent to test us.
Take Care Charlie and keep happy x

You did alright on B&W today Charlie. Very entertaining. (And that’s from someone who loves the Simon/Julia banter.) I can’t believe Julia stood Simon up for a trip to Hollywood though!

Charlie, can i just say that after hearing how you used to take all the cats that no-one else wanted from the cat sanctuaries, you are my favourite presenter. But don’t tell Dale’icious! I just adore cats and think you are an absolute sweetheart. xxx
