Garden Re-Leaf shows!

This coming weekend we've got some very special shows on QVC. We're the only national broadcaster to be taking part in the nationwide Garden Re-Leaf days which mark the start of the gardening year with fun, fundraising events raising money for Greenfingers, the charity that builds much needed gardens for children's hospices.

I've been lucky enough to be asked to choose some of my favourite plants and products for the shows which will be broadcast on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th March at 9am.

The companies, including Hayloft, De Jager, Raymond Evison and Whetmans Pinks, who supplying them are very generously donating a minimum of £1 per product sold to Greenfingers. It's the second year that we've taken part in Garden Re-Leaf day. Last year we raised £11,500 and our money went towards creating gardens at Donna Louise Childen's hospice near Stoke on Trent and Robin House Children's hospice in Balloch, Scotland. The picture above shows the fantastic play garden at Robin House that we helped fund.

I’ve been lucky enough to have been involved with the Greenfingers charity since it started and, time and time again, I've been very moved to see the huge impact and benefits of these hospice gardens which help improve the lives of the children and families who use them every day. To date, Greenfingers has created 40 special gardens across the country and they are so popular that the charity has a two year waiting list of hospices that desperately need a garden. Let's do what we can to help them again this year. Please tune in at the weekend, treat yourself to some very special plants and products, and help the hospices at the same time.
