Revealing the winners from The Speakmans’ competition

We’re pleased to announce that the two winners of the competition are Sue Toudup and Kate Macrae!

They have each won two tickets to attend the Upgrade Your Life workshop on the 27th January in Coventry, as well as a signed book and DVD (with a total approximate value of £634).

Here were there responses to our competition, which were chosen randomly out of the hundreds of people who entered:

Sue’s response:

Not everything that counts can be counted, and not everything that can be counted counts‘. Einstein was a very wise man indeed; this quote really resonates with me, and especially so when working within the education system. Trying to empower young people to love and believe in themselves is not always the easiest of tasks when everything at school is so academically-focused, so this welcome reminder of what is really important in life is worth its weight in gold (or copper, tin or aluminium…)

Kate’s response:

Beauty is found within‘. Growing up I was very badly criticised by someone that should have nurtured me, it was primarily about my appearance and left me very damaged. My favourite Disney film is Beauty and the Beast, back then I felt more like the Beast – never like Belle. I still struggle now however realised that through watching the film to remember the meaning of that quote. I would never judge anyone based upon their appearance as the way my mother did to me broke my heart.
