Thanks for your suggestions for so far

Thanks to everyone who's taken part in our post-purchase survey so far. The survey is optional for every twentieth customer order and has been a chance for us to find out where you'd like us to improve our service on the web. We've had lots of great suggestions and comments so far.

Better information

Some of you felt that they'd like more info on our product pages. We're now using a new format that means we can add better and easier-to-read information to new products.

Better video

You wanted better quality video that you could watch full screen and that was Mac compatible. This is now the case on our Live Player, Beauty Channel and all new product video clips at product detail.

Better images

You also asked for better product images, so we've put in place new systems to improve the consistency of images.

You had lots of other suggestions, like wish lists and an address book in 'my account' that have all started to feed into the plans for QVC's exciting new website design, planned to launch in 2011. In the meantime, please keep your comments and suggestions coming through the survey (or even by commenting on this post).

You desperately need a colour palette on the brand page for makes like Kim and Co so that I can see the difference between eg champagne, ivory and cream.
I would also like to see a close up shot of the material on clothes. Not only does this give me a better idea of texture but also how the colour complements the texture.
I would also like to search for clothes by colour.
Can we have consistent size charts for clothes including chest, waist, and especially dress and trouser length.

….. watch full screen and that was Mac compatible. This is now the case on our Live Player, Beauty Channel…..
I have just tried the beauty channel and whilst I can make the window full size the video still stays a minute size.
I can’t see any improvement here yet 🙁

I would really like it if you introduced 1 postage and packing charge for as many items as you ordered within one day …

Hi, last year I was asked to join in a ‘QVC Lounge’ online where lots of questions were asked about items on QVC, Presenters and our preferences. There was also a discussion area where the contributors could suggest topics and discuss them. The people running the ‘Lounge’ were going to feed back our suggestions to QVC – I wonder if that happened? The most discussed topic was the high rates of P+P especially for items bought on the same day and the (often) huge amount of packing used for small items. I did write a summing up mail which I’ve found and copy the main points for your info below:
High rates of P+P – lots of comments on this one!!
Paying for Returns and the return policy in general for wrong/faulty goods
One capped rate of P+P for any number of items on the same day
Free P+P on Special Days or TSV/OTO items
Different postage options if you are not in a hurry for the item and Irish postage rates
Wastage on huge packing materials for small items, bad for the environment as well as the customer
    TV Guide needed or not?
Having more than one TSV on Special Days to stop the monotony
Presenters who talk over or interrupt their guests
Watching QVC videos – perhaps making the screen larger, or moving the side and bottom text boxes so more of the item is shown
Having more information available on the website about what’s in the product, the colours, compare products facility, colour swatches, more search facilities, leaving out of stock items on the web with their descriptions/reviews
Having a Wishlist facility/Shopping List feature
    Loyalty Rewards/Points etc
More Easy Pay options and especially on TSV/OTO/Special Days
    More men’s fashion/items
Having some of our favourite items back, eg Molton Brown
More ring sizes for small hands
Non presenting staff and how good they are
My Account and how more details would be helpful, being able to cancel a Waitlist item on My Account. Also perhaps more detail on bank/visa statements
    Hope that is helpful.
    Best wishes.

I’d really like a qvc forum like the qvc US site has…it would be even better if QVC Uk customers could post on the US site and vice versa

please could we have better system in place for making sure on fashion shows, that we always have the sizes etc, on screen so we can actually see if the garment will fit, also the main screen plainer so we can see all of the model and the garment being modeled. When QVC first started, measuring was always done, but now it is very haphazard with the presenters not knowing sizes most of the time.
    Thank you.

I recently had a lovely surprise from my darling husband who bought me the Vivienne Tam net book.Which I am using as we speak. Would love to see who the lucky winners of the Scarf are. Wishing that I was one of them

I would buy much more if p&p were free sometimes the charges are huge, the parcels come separatley wasting resources, fuel and time. The offer of 1/2 price postage on a second item if exactly the same is so limited it is so rare that anyone would want 2 of the same colour/size etc. Also because the customer pays the return postage as well (unless item really heavy) I find I do want to order something to try and have to pay 2 lots of postage. So many online companies now have free postage please can you.

One thing that really riles me is when you upload a product on to the web and there is no product description or image to go with it. Why can’t you wait till you have all the infomation needed for the item before realeasing it on to your website?

  10. Spendalot May 30, 2010 at 11:56 pm -  Reply

When you pay on easy pay it would be great if it would say when the amount will be taken – on your account info – and how much each payment will be. (much easier to reconcile with your visa bill each month!)
Also if an item is a certain size, it would also be helpful to have that information, as you can’t always remember what size you bought if it was a while ago. Thanks for a great service.

I have often wished that QVC had wish lists and that it was possible to share them with other people when they ask what you want for Christmas or Birthdays….
my other suggestions is to improve the search functionality. for example now if you type Duvet into the search engine it brings up 7 pages of 162 results. Of these 9 are actually duvets. The rest are bed linen sets that include duvet covers. Not what you have searched for. Also the results are spread across all the pages so you cannot see all the duvets on one page. I would like to improve the search function and then add a compare function to allow the comparison of products side by side. It would be v.good if you could compare products from more than one page of results if you follow me rather than having to get all the results on one page to compare them.
and on the Northern Nights theme it would be good to have some expert advice about who each product might be suited for. EG: if you are a front sleeper this is the best pillow for you. Or if you are someone who often throws off the duvet because you get too hot in bed this is the best duvet for you. The kind of thing Susie Adams would know.
and better videos and images – particularly the inside of bags would be great.
    thank you

Is it possible to make a craft gallery of all the demos of the items used on air, please?
The clips disappear quite fast…and maybe you could sell CDs of them, or downloads of each show/single items?
    Thank you

I would like to see all the beauty items that have been on air to have the video clip to watch. There never seems to be any when they have been at a special price. Is there no way of taken that price off or putting a flash up saying the price has expired or something? Would be very helpful if this could happen. Also would be good on all other products too. Apart from that i find the website very good. Thanks.

I would find it much easier to select a foundation shade, if you could actually show a live swatch of each shade as well as your usual photograph charts to help one choose.

This is because, sometimes, so many shades can work for a range of people, and I find the photographs can be limiting, with that in mind.

Also, so very often, the presenters forget to say what shade their models are wearing. This would be a great help too, and I’m sure I would make more purchases, if this help was conveyed.

I wonder if your team have considered showcasing the brand NudebyNature, which are a mineral make up brand and relatively new to the UK, with very little presence at the mo.

Having said there, i would say their products (foundations etc) are of the best for mineral make up, and I understand they are the number one mineral make up brand in Australia.

Just a suggestion – I would love to be able to buy this brand via QVC, learn more about their products, and build further loyalty.

    Thank you.
