Well, not many sleep nights left till old Saint Nic pops down the chimney – if, of course, you’ve been good! But don’t panic, there’s still plenty of time to get that elusive last-minute gift from us.
First a big cuddly thanks to all those who entered my Yankee Candle Christmas jumper competition and congrats go to @garethdrake33, our lucky winner.
Having managed to keep the doctor away for several months, mostly by eating pies rather than apples, I finally gave way this week to an annoying virus, nothing serious but enough to keep me away from The Q for a couple of days.
So as I write I’m determined to be back fighting fit this Saturday with “The Saturday Night Show” at 8pm with Will I.T who will be occupying Santa’s Grotto and encouraging your social media interaction and challenging me to a secret Presenter Challenge – honestly both Will and the show producer never let us presenters know what’s in store!
I like that, it adds to the fun. The ‘SNS’ offers another chance to see the Today’s Special Value of the day (stock permitting) and on Saturday that honour goes to the new Acer Iconia One 10” tablet.
It has a large bright 10.1” high definition screen, 32GB storage plus an Acer brown case. It’s available in Pink, Blue and White colour options.
It would make a great gift for a loved one and that hopefully includes yourself It would be an ideal tablet for beginners who are yet to start using a tablet, for families as a device for all to use, or for children as it is an affordable option.
The quad-core processor allows you to make the most of the Android experience and it comes with 32GB internal memory plus you can pop in a Micro SD card for even more data storage space, if needs be. It also features dual cameras, 5 megapixel rear camera and 2 megapixel front camera, essential for your selfies and web chat.
Later that evening I’ll be bringing you a first for QVC: an hour featuring our Acer TSV and we launch some fabulous designs from B&O Play range by the iconic brand of Bang & Olufsen – their commitment to design and sound quality is legendary and I can’t wait to show you the items we have on offer. The show provides the perfect opportunity to pin down that elusive sophisticated special gift for someone very special, who loves their home electronics and music.
Then, at 11pm, I’ll be luxuriating in an hour of one of your (and my) favourite skincare brands, Elemis, with some great gift ideas for both the men and women in your life.
It’s funny but our dogs seem to pick up on the excitement around the house at Christmas and so we like to give them a little something – last year Ellie and Toby treated each other to a Millingtons treat each – they went down so well we’ll be doing the same again this year.
Unfortunately Toby wouldn’t leave his Snowman card alone (hanging on the Christmas tree) so we let him have an early treat. The cards are fully edible (for dogs!) but I would be cautious with miniature breeds and puppies as there are some small pieces of hide, that could cause issues.
I’ve included another wildlife photo of a pretty little bird I captured in August called a Spotted Flycatcher; not very spotty but a dab hand at catching flies
Until next time stay Christmassy and well!
