Record breaker!!

Julia with Debbie and Jilly at the BCC Garden Party Just wanted to share the good news that 'Rockett Man', Ben Rockett, completed his marathon Lands End – John O'Groats – Lands End bike ride this morning at 7am, breaking the record by 22 hours and raising money for charity into the bargain, so thanks to any of you who have supported him!
It's a shame that Keeley from Elemis won't be around to massage his tired muscles with Aching Muscle Oil, but she will be rather busy at QVC this coming weekend with her TSV – unfortunately it's my weekend off so I will miss seeing her, but of course I will be tuning in!!

Talking of charity and raising money, the photo of Jilly, Debbie and I was taken at a Garden Party that one of our QVC staff organised to raise money for Breast Cancer Care – considering what a rubbish summer we are having, we were very lucky with the weather.

Margaret Wilson's birthday cake Our big Charity evening for BCC is coming up in October and I'm delighted to say that this year I will be hosting it with Charlie. As usual we will be relying on lots of our suppliers and you guys to help us raise money for this very worthwhile cause.

Someone who is always involved is Simon Wilson, from Butler and Wilson, and a few of you have asked to see photos from 'Margaret's Party'. Well, thanks to Sophie I managed to get the photos onto my computer, only to find that there weren't any of me!!! Thought you might like to see Margaret's cake though?

Have a fab weekend with Elemis, Honora and Ronni Nicole… I know I will!

Love, Julia x

Nice to see the three original ‘grand dames’ of QVC back together again! We only need Kara Tritton now to make it a full house!

    Hi Julia
Well done to Ben for breaking the record by 22 hours… quite an achievement.
What a lovely picture of you, Debbie and Jilly together for a very good cause and do I spy a Ronni Nicole dress you’re wearing?
I received my dress yesterday (148433) and because it’s very fitted I ordered the 12… good call! It looks absolutely gorgeous on and at 5’2″ sits just below the knee and with a pair of killer heels (I need all the help I can get!) together with the fact that the bottom is straight, makes you look and feel taller.
I haven’t got one dress in my wardrobe, so when I tried it on and asked Chris what he thought, he nearly fell in a ruck! It’s years since he’s seen me in a dress and said I looked gorgeous and had to get some more dresses like that because he’d be proud to take me out, not that he isn’t proud now, I hasten to add! Well, I’ve took him at his word and have ordered 3 more dresses this morning and may even order more later on, that’s if they don’t sell ot first!
    Take care and speak soon

    Hi Julia
Great news about Ben breaking the record, what a man. This week end Iam so much looking forward to putting my feet up and watching QVC (Elemis and Ronni Nickole) as I”ve had so many visitors the last 6 weeks and did not watch much TV. It has been so hot this summer in Mallorca, that lots of friends called and ask to visit, we had lots of fun together, but so much food, drinks and late nights by the pool started to show with the dark circles around the eyes and the tired face I need all the help I can get from Elemis.
Have a fun week end and I hope the weather gets better for this bank holiday week end for you.
    Much love.

    Hi Julia,
Hope I do not sound too much like a crazy QVC addict…..but can I ask if the dress you are wearing in the photo is from QVC?
Am looking forward to watching the BCC Charity evening, although I have never been lucky enough to get through to buy anything in previous years, but maybe I will get lucky this time!
I did manage to get the B&W BCC brooch which came with a red heart necklace, but I think that was during a regular programme slot last year or the year before.

    Hi Julia
Thats brilliant news, 22 hours, WOW, thats some fast pedalling! I did sponsor him. A very good cause, and close to my heart.
Such a shame you and Keeley wont be on together, was looking forward to a good giggle!!!!!! Have got my TSV anyway, and also one for my best friend, so cant wait for that to arrive.
Had a little windfall recently, that I had no idea I was getting, so have treated myself to the little HP netbook thats been on all weekend.
Isnt it strange that even a small amount of cash can make such a difference, but some people have millions at their disposal, and they are just miserable. I have had so much fun, just buying little treats for my family and my best friend, and that was just with a couple of hundred!!! I have to say, the majority of the treats were from QVC. They are probably getting twice as much as I would have got them otherwise.
My little grandson arrived on Wednesday. We have one of each now!! Has been lovely buying little blue oufits for a change!
We have had horrible couple of years, so this has been a really nice few days.
Have just bought a couple of Taxco pieces to put away in my xmas box. I have to go lie down now. Its a good thing I dont have millions to spend, IM EXHAUSTED LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Lots of love Julia.

P.s. My good wishes to your mum, hope shes feeling a wee bit better this week.

    Hi Louise
‘Grand Dames’ egh!!!!! Aren’t you forgetting Suzanne Evett and the lovely Katy John as well as Kara Tritton? How long have you been watching? – sounds like early days! Can’t believe it will be 17 years to the day this Saturday since I joined QVC – where does the time go?
    much love

    Hi Annette
Despite my best intentions, I didn’t manage to catch any of the Ronni shows last weekend – my bank balance said thankyou!!
I love the dress in the photo – the fabric is georgette crepe but still with the liner. I wore it to the Westlife/races day – in fact I’ve worn it a lot this summer despite the weather.
Ben did really well didn’t he – he was probably pleased the weather wasn’t warmer, better cycling conditions!
    speak soon

    Hi Magda
Hope you enjoyed your Ronni/ Elemis weekend? I’d like to say the weather improved for the bank holiday weekend BUT…………..
It was Chris’s birthday yesterday and we went for a walk in the countryside where we live. It was lovely in the sunshine, but cool out of it, so much so that we had to have the heating on for a little while in the evening!! I’m sure the weather will pick up once the children are back at school LOL!!!

    Hi Susan
As you’ve probably already gleaned from the previous comments my dress is indeed a QVC product – wonderful Ronni Nicole. I don’t think it will have featured this visit though as it tends to take longer to get things back in stock.
Hope you are more successful with the BCC evening this year

    Hello Una
Congratulations on the new arrival – what have they called him???
Thankyou so much for sponsoring Ben – what a fantastic achievement!
Sounds like you’ve been having fun with your little windfall – you’ve obviously got a generous nature! I know what you mean about the last couple of years ………. getting there though!
Mum’s still not great but not as bad as she was – I’ve sent her some vitamin B12 tablets as suggested by Steve and also some vitamin E to help the skin recover.
Hopefully get to see her soon

    Hello Hilary
Thankyou for all your lovely comments about myself and Simon and so pleased you like what you have bought this time.
Belive it or not I got the ladybird mouse from ‘NEXT’ – I hope they’ve still got them.
Next instalment of Simon and I in October!
    much love

Hello Julia,, happy new year,I was watching your show last night on the Pilates excercise machine, it seems a fabulous piece of equipment ,and you were doing a fab job demonstrating it, i was trying to drop a few hints to my husband about my forthcoming birthday,in that it would be something i might like,, well there are some men you would need to write the whole thing on their forehead with a marker and they still would not get the message,, my husband is one of them, eventually i came out straight and said would you get me one of those for my birthday? and cool as a cucumber he said “sure providing the presenter comes along with it” Julia are you up for a trip to Aberdeen?
