I hope you enjoyed Super Sunday and have been savouring the recent beautiful weather we've been having – Richard Jackson finally got it right (after 15 years!). It's a standing joke between Richard and I that at the beginning of every gardening season he makes some statement like "It's set to be the best summer ever" or something similar!
Ironically this year he tempered his enthusiasm, which is just as well given the poor spring but fingers crossed the summer seems to be making up for it. Anyone who decided to have a 'staycation' this July has been well rewarded.
I love to travel, but I've often said that particularly when the sun shines – there's a huge number of reasons to stay and holiday in the UK. I'm taking a couple of weeks away from the Q myself and I always try to make the best of my breaks in terms of recharging my batteries etc – I do get regular breaks in my shift pattern but I find I never really switch off unless it's at least a couple of weeks. Are you the same? Or do you only need a day to find that inner serenit?
When we go away we take Toby down to my mum's in West Sussex, she loves having him and he gets on very well with her black Pomeranian Cross Pixie – she walks him at least twice a day but he's always a few pounds heavier when we pick him up! Then again so am I after my hols! It's a time to eat, drink and be merry! You're probably saying that sounds like your last 'In the Kitchen' hour Dale! Especially when Jilly Jones mixes me up a cocktail in the Ninja! Wah haay!
Seriously, I hope whatever you decide to do, that you can indeed find some relaxation and recharge your batteries this summer in preparation for a fantastic third and fourth quarter of amazing shopping to be found at the Q in our 20th year. There's some exciting new shows and I'll share news of the ones I'm involved with as soon as I can.
Talking of which the Dale & Charlie – 3 Hour Diamond Spectacular I mentioned last week is definitely on for the 4th August at 5pm and a very generous easy pay offer is planned for every item!! Could that be a clue as to what shocked Charlie and I in this week's "Just for Fun" photo comp? Or do you have other ideas?
If so, let me know what's on your mind for the speech bubble in the comments section.
Until next time, take care, stay safe and be happy!!
