I've been successfully getting down to a healthier weight with Diet Chef, simultaneously meditating and exercising with my Pilates machine and felt it would do the spirit a world of good to share a girly pampering day with my wonderful daughter, and best friend, Chrissie.
Chrissie is a full time freelance make up artist and has been rather hectic with bridal shows, fashion shoots and the recent, famous London Fashion Week.
I've been busier than ever preparing for a play with New Dreams Theatre which I am not only co-producing but playing a part in. We've just finished auditioning for the cast, meeting with set designers, lighting engineers and so on. More to come on that soon so keep watching the blog and my twitter.
We love our mummy-daughter days together so we thought this would be a perfect part of one of those special days. Here are some of the wonderful ladies from the store; Jemima, Tracey, Carol and Lydia. Lovely Gabby met us, too, but had to leave early so we didn't get her in the photo!
Upon arrival at Liz Earle we met therapist, Jemima, and completed a customer consultation interview and were offered a drink.
I had beautiful apple & ginger fruit tea and Chrissie partook of lime infused water whilst we breathed in that calming and familiar Liz Earle aroma filled air. Already we were feeling healthier and de stressed.
Chrissie looked like a little baby all cozied up on the treatment couch. I took a piccy and left her to it whilst I observed the in-store assistants helping customers choose products right for them and even offering them complimentary goodies with their purchases. What a lovely touch!
Another lovely touch is 'Cake Friday'. Luckily we booked on on a Friday so experienced this for ourselves but its a long standing, company-wide tradition within the Liz Earle family.
I can now highly recommend the signature facial. I don't want to spoil it for you by telling you exactly what it entails but it was more than I could have imagined including a fabulous foot massage. Thanks Lydia!
Some of you are familiar with the adventures of Tedward and Bert. If not, feel free to browse back through my blog until you find them.
After our scrumptious facials Chrissie and I just had to check out the make up. What a wonderful array of goodies to choose from! Needless to say we just had to pick up a few bits.
You know what a shopper I am, my daughters almost as bad. She fell in love with their eye shadow blending brush for her pro make up artist kit.
Finally, we went for a late lunch in one of Chrissie's favourite fast food eateries – YoSushi! It was so nice just to catch up with each other, have a really nice mum & daughter natter complete with giggles. She always laughs at how much wasabi paste I get through in YoSushi. I just love hot foods!
So, all in all, a magnificent treat of a day. It's so important to remember the one thing that money can't buy – your time. It can be lost in the blink of an eye so my advice is to take a little time for the people you love the most and also for yourself to enable you to function at your best. We often forget about ourselves so I'm commanding you now – whether it's an hours soak in the bath, an afternoon watching some fave movies or just getting your nails done, take some time for you this week.
I'll see you soon, lots of love,
