Keep watching for special shows tied-in with the magazine, featuring the editors in charge of different areas of interest such as fashion, beauty, gardening, craft, technology, lifestyle and much more.
We hope you'll agree that Best and QVC suit each other down to the ground – the editors certainly thought so when we had a quick chat with them!
We caught up with Tracey Baldwin (Fashion & Lifestyle editor), Lara Nugent (Lifestyle, Cookery, Home & Garden, Craft & DIY editor), Helen Pike (Technology editor) and Cara Matheson (Beauty editor) when they came in to QVC recently…
Lara: Also QVC has great offers, especially with the Today's Special Value and One Time Only deals that you have.
Tracey: QVC is also a great place for our readers to find all the brands they love.
Lara: And it's particularly good for our readers outside of London who might not be able to get hold of some brands so easily. They can shop with QVC just by picking up the phone or using the website, no matter where they are.
Helen: It's great publicity for us and hopefully will encourage new readers for the magazine, as well as new viewers to the channel and users on your website.
Cara: Also, it's going to be good for QVC viewers, as we can offer all our knowledge and tips and advice that we've gained from working on the magazine. Hopefully we can help encourage viewers to try new things with our advice.
Have you shopped with QVC and do you have a favourite brand or product?
Helen: I've shopped from QVC's website a few times. I love the customer ratings and reviews, they're really honest and I like the fact you publish them, even if they haven't liked the product. It's great, as you feel you can rely on others opinions. I bought the Smashbox Photo Finish primer.
Cara: It does make you trust QVC much more with the ratings and reviews, it makes it feel like a safe place to shop. I get a real fix looking at all the beauty bargains on the website. Our readers are very savvy and they know how much things should cost, so they like the exclusives and kits that QVC put together.
Our readers are really willing to splash out on high-end beauty, which you do really well at QVC. I love Bare Escentuals – it's not easy to find on the high street and is a really cultish product. Our readers are also big fans of Bare Escentuals. Also, Smashbox Photo Finish is a real professional make-up artist favourite, and you can just find it straight away at QVC.
Tracey: I'm a Liz Earle girl through and through. And she won with Best Magazine Beauty Awards in 2009 (Best Cleanser for Cleanse & Polish), so we know our readers love her products too. And just like Best, QVC doesn't promote anything that isn't tried and tested.
Tracey: I also like Nail Envy by OPI. It can be really hard to keep your nails looking good, but this leaves them really nourished. Another favourite is the Pro-Collagen range by Elemis. I particularly like it when you have them as a Today's Special Value, such great value for money!
Lara: We have Duvet Days where we just watch QVC – it's such a guilty pleasure!
Tracey: I also love Diamonique, for all the glitz and glamour!
Lara: And I love Lola Rose – I wear her jewellery lots.
What's your one tip for autumn/winter 2010?
Cara: Flawless, full-face make-up is making a real come back, driven by shows such as Mad Men. A really good primer will keep all your make-up in place and blend away those fine lines. It will make your make-up go further. It's a crime not to prime!
Also, the in trend for nails is darker neutrals, moving on from summer's nudes to minks, greys and greige (grey-beige). As these are darker colours, invest in a good quality topcoat to prevent them from chipping.
Tracey: A really good hand cream. It's important to look after your hands, as they can really reveal your age. And a good night's sleep!
Helen: A good pair of ankle boots with lowish heels. They're easy to walk in all day without hurting your feet, and go with anything.
Lara: A good moisturiser, and change your moisturiser to suit the season. I found that last winter when it got so cold, my skin really suffered, so a rich, creamy moisturiser is a must have. After all, we change our clothing from season to season, so why don't we do the same with our skincare? I think it's can be so easy to get comfortable with one routine and not change it, even if it's not doing the best for our skin.
Tune in tomorrow at 9am and Thursday 28th October at 9am to meet the editors of Best magazine.
