Starting in May, ITV viewers will be able to watch bite-sized segments of QVC shows on ITV1’s brand new TV shopping destination ‘The Zone’. For the first time, viewers will have access to QVC’s vast range of expert advice, top brands and quality products on terrestrial television.

The Zone provides ITV viewers with a fun new place to shop and play. ITV1 has teamed up with QVC and leading TV gaming company Netplay to bring its viewers the best in home shopping and TV gaming, live and direct to their living rooms.

As part of ‘The Zone’, QVC's live shows will include everything from well-known brands such as Bose, Hewlett Packard, Birkenstock, Bobbi Brown, Samsung, Liz Earle and L’Occitane; to celebrity brands such as Lulu and Joan Rivers. Celebrity faces to watch out for over the coming weeks include Lulu, Jemma Kidd, Lulu Guinness and Kelly Hoppen.

Also, look out for top TV presenters and real life couple Michael Underwood and Angellica Bell, who will present ‘The Zone’ together with a team of other ITV1 presenters.

‘The Zone’ launches on ITV1 on Thursday 20th May, broadcasting live for two hours every night after midnight.

will possibly reach more viewers this way on a terrestrial channel than cable, sky or freeview. however its a pity its on after midnight, shame its not being broadcast in an earlier time slot.

Why do QVC feel the need to expand even further? The vast majority of people now can access QVC on their Freeview, cable or Sky boxes. It just puts even more temptation on people to buy things that they could quite well do without. Where will it end, total World domination? Will Ideal World follow suit? At least it’s not on until midnight. Bad move in my opinion – QVC is just fine the way it is. If it ain’t broke don’t mend it.

actually not that pleased with this news, those gaming programmes are just about the worst of tv today – shame qvc has decided to partner up with them

cannot stand gaming programmes, so for this reason i won,t be watching the zone, however, i am sure they won,t miss me as plenty of others will watch

Of course us existing customers won’t watch it, if we are sitting up that late to watch QVC we will just watch QVC! It is obviously aimmed at new viewers who probably wouldnt dream of watching QVC, but will get to see it on The Zone before they have realised what is going on! As long as the service I get doesnt deteriorate, and prices get better because of the extra buying power Im not going to worry!

Oh Noooooooooo …I love QVC and don’t want it to go main stream…I just hope customer service doesn’t change and the friendly no hassle shopping experience, format etc, …If the hard sell starts I’ll be off….albeit with a sad heart.

I watch QVC every day, really enjoy it and often stay up for the TSV. I did see the first ‘The Zone’ simulcast… but did wonder why QVC have decided to do this. In a way I feel that QVC has lost a bit of their individuality by going down this road. The simulcast is a good idea in principal, particularly trying to reach those who have never heard of it… but if you already are watching QVC at the same time, it feels very odd, particularly having a double airing of the TSV and the next hour starting at different times to fit in with the ITV schedule! I suppose its one of the biggest format changes for a while and we will have to see how it goes but, would it not make more sense to record the segments for the zone and leave QVC the way it is, much like QVC night time – if it aint broke and all that. Still a happy customer though :-)

I like QVC just the way it is thank you. I have to agree with most of the comments above. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. If I find QVC becomes tacky in any shape or form, I will unfortunately switch off, but hope it doesn’t come to that because I just love QVC.
