QVC Beauty, a weekend in Dorset and Therapaws!

10

QVC BeautyHi there, hope you are well.

I have had a great couple of weeks, busy as usual and finding it hard to believe we are already halfway through April, where does the time go?

Have you noticed I have been doing more beauty shows on QVC lately? Over the last couple of weeks I have had shows with Decleor, Lulu, Judith Williams and Liz Earle. I have a real passion for skincare and I expressed an interest in doing these shows a while back. I have learned so much from talking and watching the other presenters, especially from Ali Young and that, combined with my own research and curiosity, has meant I can bring that passion to shows.

Thank you so much for the kind messages saying how much you enjoy me doing beauty shows, and I just wanted to let you know I have my own 'Craig Loves' beauty show on Sunday 16th June so put it in your diary – I had to supply a list of my favourite beauty products to the buyers a while ago, goodness knows how we will fit it all into one show, haha!!

If you haven't seen me presenting beauty, there are plenty of clips on Youtube, here is one of me talking about skincare with Will Gowing:

Craig's Farm DairyLast weekend I was away in Dorset staying in a log cabin. I was there with the Raines, my extended family, and we had a fantastic time. We were celebrating Val & Malcolm's Golden Wedding Anniversary so there was lots of fun, laughter, memories and champagne to be shared! We also took a trip to Monkey World and played mini-golf in Sandbanks overlooking the ocean. Weather was a little arctic at times but as always we had fun. In the photo you can see a picture of milk in a local shop that made me smile for obvious reasons!!

Finally, I did my first 'Therapaws' visit on Wednesday, this is a program organised by the Mayhew Animal Rescue Centre (themayhew.org) that is local to me whereby volunteers take a friendly dog, cuddly kittens or adorable bunny rabbits to a local nursing home or hospice. I am not a fully fledged volunteer yet but this was a chance for me to go and take part in a visit. I really enjoyed it, I loved meeting the residents and staff of the nursing home, my role involved generally chatting and also holding the rabbits close enough for residents to see their big bright eyes and stroke their lovely soft fur. No photos to show you but I promise I will take some soon.

Ok, as always, it's time for my 3 things:

HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEK: sitting on the balcony of the lodge in Dorset for the 1 hour of sunshine we did have, sipping a glass of bubbly and munching on a lentil pate sandwich, yum!

FAVOURITE PRODUCT OF THE WEEK: Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish, since doing the show I have been reminded what a fab product this is and starting to use it again – it has really given my skin a wake up call!

HAPPY THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK: I was chatting to a friend in France last night on my landline phone and it made me realise how special it was to actually sit down and talk properly, not on a mobile running around half doing something else or by text or email but really listening and enjoying a proper catch up.

As always, I would love to know yours!!

Big hugs,

Craig xxx

    Ahh Mr Craig
How lovely to read your blog – brilliant as always. You are fab on the beauty shows and it is refreshing to see a gentleman presenting the same. You do always look really good Craig so you must be doing something right! I shall definitely tune in for your beauty show !!!!
The therapaws sounds such a brilliant idea and I am sure gives people so much pleasure. I don’t have any pets sadly but when I visit my friend with her four cats (3 too many really for me!!) there is something quite soothing stroking an animal. Keep it up Mr Craig as I am sure it will give you as much pleasure as it will to the “residents” (hate that word!).
    So my three things
highlight – being able to spend time in the garden getting it tidy, potting up plug plants and getting it ready for the summer!!!! Fingers crossed.
Favourite Product: At the moment probably the new Elemis Cleansing balm. Very lovely texture and smells gorgeous. Leaves skin looking and feeling really good.
Happy Thought – The sun is finally shining – well in Brighton anyway!!!
    Take care lovely Craig

Fantastic blog as always Craig! Has been lovely seeing you back
On Qvc and always looking gorgeous in your outfits!
Glad you have been having a wonderfully uplifting time!
    Great for the soul!
I’ve enjoyed having my 5 year old to myself for 2 weeks ( albeit because
He had his tonsils out bless him) but gave me yet ANOTHER excuse to spoil him without
    Question-hehe!
Been enjoying my second Yankee candle drop-loving summer scoop!
And as I’m back in bed recovering from lumber puncture number 12 ( every 6 weeks)
Reminding myself how lucky I am to have 2 gorgeous boys, a wonderful husband and fantastic family & friends!
    Onwards & upwards xxxx

Just thought I would let you know hat I really enjoyed watching you present the beauty shows – really informative you can really see your passion coming through. I have marked June 16 on my iPad. Look forward to seeing you on QVC. Btw I totally agree C&P is wonderful, but a close second is judith Williams cleansing mousse – I recommend it.

Hi Craig………. what a fab blog, inspirational comes to mind. I’ll explain why: I am currently reading a brilliant book about one of my favourite actors, Cary Grant called ‘The Wizard of Beverly Grove’, which is part biographical and part inspirational. The chapter I am reading is chapter 9 titled “You have to be willing to give more than you receive if you want to be truly happy”. The very same night I read your blog especially ‘Therapaws’ and thought what a fab way to give something worthwhile back. So much so I am going to enquire about this in my local area. THANK YOU SO MUCH for the inspiration Craig. It amazes me just how much you pack into your busy schedule, so if you can do it, so can I !
    Heres my 3 things for this week;
Highlight: Reading about Therapaws ! What a fab idea !
Product: Summer scoop (Mmmmmmmmm ! :o) ) from my recent Yankee drop.
Thought: When we give back it comes back to you ten fold.
Happy thoughts and hugs to you Craig ! Have a fab week !
    Lots of love Helen xxx

    Hi Sarah P!
Always great to hear from you and I love the fact you are always the first to write back to me. It means a lot ;)
Yes, the Therpaws was brilliant, sadly I havent been able to go back yet as I need to be able to commit to a certain day every week and because of my schedule thats moving tricky but we’ll get there.
Love your 3 things, must admit I havent tried the Elemis cleansing balm, everyone seems to be raving about it. At the moment I am combining moringa balm with SBC collagen cleanser, its lovely!! I am then going to start trialling Perrricone, dying to see if products that expensive will make a noticeable difference…I’ll report back.
Hows the weather holding up down there? Great to get out and do your plug plants etc isnt it?
I am off to Southern France this weekend, at the moment the forecast is the same as it is in London, boo!!
    Much love, chat soon
    Craig

Hi Helen, great to hear from you again :)
Isnt it funny how we get these little signs??
Therapaws was wonderful and as soon as I can agree to a regular day to commit to it will be something I do every week which I am really excited about.
Love your 3 things! I havent lit my Yankee Candle 2013 collection yet, I really need to start buying 2 sets, one to light 1 to keep in my candle drawer!
Big hugs and thanks for your positive energy!!

    Hello Craig
I love your shows, especially Northern Nights, and as I am a make up addict I’m pleased to read you’ll be presenting more beauty slots. I can’t wait to see you on a Mally show. It would be HILAIRIOUS.
My 3 favourite things from QVC (slightly cheaty)
    1. Birkenstock
    2. Nail Varnish (Nails Inc/Leighton Denny)
    3. Creams & Potions (Gatineau/Elemis/Liz Earle)
Big love from the North London Massive.
