Just a quick return to The Q blog, having had several days leave to take before the end of our Leave Year. I hope it finds you all as well as can be expected and full of the joys of spring, that at last seem to be emerging from its soggy slumber.
I took time out to relax without any pressure to do anything in particular, but I managed to get lots of silly little jobs jobbed around the house and garden – plus I took a few day trips too.
I confess, I am regularly guilty of the 'I'll sort it out tomorrow' type comments and this break gave me a chance to put all those well intentioned – but ultimately inaccurate – promises to bed. Mrs F was very happy :). At least Toby looked handsome for the ladies – as you can see!
Sometimes, I take my relaxing to the extreme and decide to really chill out by walking Toby without having shaved or, well, let's say… wearing my Sunday Best! I had an interesting encounter on my walk with Toby, in the woods near us, last week with a lovely lady last week who was with her Nature Ramblers Society.
As is so often the case, she initially started making a fuss of Toby and one of her friends fell in love with him. Then as soon as she heard my voice, she looked up and realised it was Yours Truly. We chatted for a short while and went our separate ways after bidding each other farewell!
When I got home, my wife took one look at my rather weather-beaten appearance and sang "If they could see you now" (yes, she changed the lyrics). I sheepishly admitted: " 'They' just have!"
So I would like to say to the charming lady and her friend Toby and I met last week – I apologise for any trauma caused by the sight of me and next time she tunes in I hope my normal appearance has been resumed!
Talking of tuning in this week, or even this month, March has been chosen as Jewellery Month and jewellery lovers will be excited by what we have on offer throughout the month. On Friday I'll host the launch of a stunning collection of Fashion Jewellery from the highly regarded Bill Skinner.
Just two years ago, Bill Skinner launched his eponymous brand in January 2012 to critical acclaim. Since then, his pieces have been featured in Vogue, You magazine, Marie Claire, and the Times magazine. This year, the brand was named among the 'Professional Jeweller Hot 100'.
I will actually be joined by Jill, Bill's wife, and if you love animals and nature you will certainly be pleased you joined us at 8pm this Friday 7th.
Bill has blogged more about his collection here. I really hope you can join Jill and I for this gorgeous collection.
No 'Just for Fun' this week, but I'll be back early next week with another.
Stay safe, dry and healthy… 'till next time
