Julia's cartoon duck drawing Well clearly lots of you enjoyed the Butler & Wilson 16th Anniversary shows - my only regret was that I wasn't able to do more of them! Weren't the anniversary cakes fantastic! Well done Jo in our 'prep' kitchen. Simon was on great form particularly as he had only recently returned from a busy trip away.

Whilst he was away there was a B&W show that I presented on my own (Nicky was away with him) and Simon watched it online. He reminded me that I'd said something about being able to draw a cartoon duck and that I would put it on my blog.

I had totally forgotten so here it is… not sure it was worth the build up!!! It does tie in nicely with my first show this evening though… Quacker Factory!!

Thank you again for all the suggestions for my Mum's kitten – she hasn't got it yet so hasn't decided on a name, but rest assured I will post the name and perhaps a photo, if my brother will take one, on here in the not too distant future.

Julia with Sophie and QVC customers It's always lovely to hear from you guys on my blog and by text and phone during the live shows but it's even nicer to meet you in person.

A couple of weeks ago some ladies were invited to QVC to have a 'make-over' for our Beauty Channel (658 on Sky) and Sophie called me and asked me to come in early to meet them. It was such a lovely picture that I thought I would pop it up.

Fab weekend ahead with Keeley and Elemis all day tomorrow, that means a cuddle with Kaya, and an Acer tablet on Sunday that even I am interested in!

Speak soon,
Julia xx

    Hi Julia,
Love the cartoon of the Duck, he looks a little sad, maybe he wants some more rain. Yes I did watch most of Simon’s shows, you two make such a good team, always laughing. I did buy some of his jewellery which is for Christmas presents. He is so talented and makes some lovely things. I have several pieces of his jewellery and some of his clothes. I could not find your chocolate cake recipe did look back through some of your old blogs, but not to worry. Yes Elemis is on, I use all their products, love them. I shall be interested to see the Acer TSV, did see it on the QVC webpage, I use an Acer computer for my business and so does my husband, they are good computers, I recently purchased the TSV one which was on a couple of months ago, the laptop for him, as his old computer was getting a bit slow. My daughter also purchased the same one, had to send two back as there were problems, but hopefully it is now sorted. Enjoy your weekend even though you are working. Take care.
    Love Jean. XXXX

    Hi Julia
What lucky ladies being invitied for a make-over at QVC Towers and meeting you too! They must have had a fantastic day.
Really got to curb my spending at the moment, just ordered a few things, only to find out that wait-list orders have been dispatched…keep forgetting about the 90 days wait eeek!
Love the cartoon duck drawing, it’s similar to the cartoon dog head that I draw or doodle, shall I say, well the eyes are anyway.
Had another make-up clearout yesterday and found an old make-up bag with some very old products from QVC, Tony & Tina eye base, Dermablend and a Tova lipstick which had a lipgloss in the base, do you remember when Tova did make-up?
    Have a great weekend.
    Annette x
Una – Thank you for asking about my ankle, still twinges, good days and bad, but you just have to get on with it. You’re doing really well by the sounds of it and are a real inspiration to everyone, me included! x

Love your duck picture Julia, looks like you’re about as good at drawing as me, lol! I always enjoy watching you and Simon together, you have a great rapport going on.
Lucky ladies getting an invitation for a makeover. I’d love one with Mally actually, she does THE most amazing eyes. It would be great if we could bid for some Mally makeovers on the Breast Cancer Care Event. Just a suggestion!
Enjoyed the Elemis shows as usual. Keeley has asked me to do the Monday show in her mini series in September. I hope we get to meet anyway.
    Love M

    Hi Julia,
Glad you’d a lovely time at the B&W shows. I am one of the rare ones not a fan so didn’t see any! I would have enjoyed the cakes though!! I just had to say I don’t know the names of your gorgeous QVC fans there in the pic but the lady with the beautiful bob black afro hair 2nd from left should be a model for QVC!! She’s beautiful.
    Take care,

    Hi Julia
Hope you had a nice weekend.
I saw a couple of Elemis shows, really enjoyed them, what I could see anyway! My back was playing up a bit most of the weekend, so I couldnt sit for very long, then i couldnt stand for very long, then I tried lounging on the floor, and couldnt get up. Then I started laughing cos i was stuck on the floor, which really didnt help my poor hubby, who was trying to help me back to the sofa. He started to laugh then, and it was just an escapade to say the least! Oh well, you just have to laugh eh.
Yep, i cant remember who you were on with ( I had a stroke you know LOL!), but you said you had both just heard of a pregnancy!! Time will tell, but I have to say, the gorgeous Ali was my first “suspect”!!
Annette, not so sure about being an inspiration! Certainly wasnt very inspiring when i was floundering like a stranded whale in the middle of the floor, laughing like a right big eejit!!! hehe, im chuckling at the memory, oooops!!
Im glad to hear you are making improvements in the ankle department. Slowly does it.
    lots of love
    Una xxxx

    Hi Jean
Now you know I am not joking when I say I can’t draw!!!! I don’t know why the duck would want any more rain after the summer we’re having!!! Raining again today, but at least we didn’t get the threatened floods, although i think some areas of London did!
OK I found the chocolate cake recipe for you. When you are here on my blog, scroll down and on the left hand side it says ‘Archives’. Click ‘more’ and then select December 2008 – ‘My delicious chocolate cake’ is the blog with the recipe on it.
Did you get the Elemis Tri Enzyme TSV??? I hadn’t used Tri Enzymes for a while because of the problems with my skin, but Keeley said I would be OK and as usual she is right!!! – my skin is loving the freshen up!
hope the cake turns out well

    Hi Annette
I can do the dog too ………. Sophie thinks it looks more like a droopy eared rabbit. Maybe I’ll put it on this weeks blog!!! LOL!
Yes I do remember when Tova did make-up … maybe they’ll bring it back one day. I can’t believe you still had Tony and Tina – we haven’t done that for years!!! Glad to hear you threw it away or you would have been in big trouble with Ms Young!
The wait list orders sometimes catch me out too, but remember you can always send them back if you’ve gone over budget.
Good to see you and Una ‘chatting’

    Hi Marion
Yes …………. an artist I am not!!!
I agree about Mally doing amazing eyes ……. I’m not always keen on other people doing my make-up as they don’t ‘know’ my face but Mally is just brilliant!
I won’t be at QVC on the Monday of the mini series as I am away from the 10th to the 28th of September – you’ll just have to come again Lol!!

It’s so good that you are able to laugh at yourself and the position you found yourself in i.e. on the floor!!!
Maybe I was talking about one of our Producers, Anna, who is expecting her first baby?

Hi Julia, well all done in spain, now we are officially home owners abroad.Very hectic leading up to signing day and so glad it went without any hitches.I will be flying back to Malags in september on my own this time,to take delivery of some furntiure and do a few things, as the children are back at school should find a cheap flight,in fact as i write my partner just txt to say flights are available. Then we are both off in October for 3 weeks to Egypt, i’m getting to like this high flying. And yes we have got friends staying in the house in spain while we are in Egypt, all happening so quickly. Just seen in your blog that you will be away then too, hope the weather stays nice for us, although you are much further up in Alicante.September’s can be so nice though. Havn’t seen much qvc while ive been away, but did catch some of Debbie’s stint with simon on my laptop, they did make me laugh. I’m not a huge fan of the jewellery, but have loads of b/w tops. Well better go and wade through the mound of post.Have a good holiday, doubt if we’l bump into each other as i’m down south, but you never know.

    Hi Kathy
Congratulations – I hope you’ll spend many happy holidays there! I’m looking forward to being away in September as I haven’t had any time off during the school holidays. I think it is only fair to let the Presenters with children take time off during the Summer Holidays and someone has to be on air LOL! Besides which Spain in high summer is a bit too warm for me!

Sophie is getting on well at QVC – I feel very proud when the guests say lovely things about her without being prompted I should add!!!! It’s a good job for her range of talents – she is open and outgoing, friendly, enthusiastic and supremely organised! – just read that back…….. sounds like a CV!!!!

Hi Susan, (sorry Julia for using your blog to reply to Susan),yes i am lucky…… in a way i supose. My mum died just over 2 1/2 years ago, (she would have been 95 in may just gone),i was left the house, so i sold my own property no mortgage or anything to pay back moved in the bigger house, we have just finished up dating it thankfully, and thought as there was so many bargin properties in spain to put the money to good use. Which i did, it needs a bit of work but that can be done over time.I’d rather have my mum back but thanks to her i can benifit from my inheritence. And also i’m getting married next september, it’s all happening. And Egypt well we booked that holiday as soon as we came back last october and saved a lot by booking a year in advance. Must stop spending now the wedding comes first, ive got a dress to buy.!!!!
    All the best Susan.
