Another week has flown by at QVC and home. It’s been so busy yet I’m proud to say this is proving to be my best prepared Christmas ever! Most unlike me!
Most of my gifts are bought and nearly all of them are wrapped up too! All our decorations are up and out on display as well. How are you getting on?
As well as wrapping up I’ve been unwrapping too. I couldn’t help myself… my chocolate advent calendar has been eaten by me already. I just lost track of the days… Honest 😉
It was on my chest of drawers in my bedroom and just kept looking at me. Mum bought it for me and one-chocolate-a-day soon became two… and then three…. well you get the idea! Very little self-control.
Between busy times at QVC and home I’ve managed to enjoy some wonderful walks with my two bundles of joy… my cairn terriers!
I was out walking the other morning at one of our favourite places and a short while into the walk I realised I didn’t have my mobile phone with me. Panic! I always ensure its with me just in case I get a call from my children’s school or a message from work asking if I can cover an extra hour.
For a few moments I thought, I’d better dash home and pick up the phone. Then I said to myself, it’s OK, calm down, you’re only out for an hour… you’ll survive… and if need be the school can call mum instead.
It was strange being without the mobile and made me realise how dependant we are on them these days. My children find it hard to believe they didn’t exist when I was young and that we were reliant on a 10p coin in your pocket just in case you needed to use the phone box. Mobiles do serve an invaluable service especially during times of trouble or need. However, it was lovely to be without the phone for an hour which meant I couldn’t check for texts or messages. I was really able to appreciate the beautiful surroundings, take in the fresh air, listen to the song birds and watch the squirrels scamper from branch to branch.
Well… all was going well until my cairns chose the one ‘mobile free’ occasion to see a squirrel and disappear into the woods for half an hour… Typical, the one time I may have had a call from a fellow walker who finds my dogs, my phone wasn’t with me!
After much trampling through leaves, broken twigs and fallen branches I found the mischievous two looking very pleased with themselves for evading me for such a long time!
So, although I was able to enjoy the tranquillity of the natural surroundings and beautiful winter sunshine without the ‘beep’ of a text I won’t be leaving home with out my phone too soon in the future!
QPlay returns this week with a product I absolutely love. So do our reviews. There are 19 of them and they’re all 5 star.
If hanging a picture or mirror is a hassle for you (getting out the drill, drill bits, raw plugs and screws) then this is probably the answer.
I recently caught up with the creator of the Takker Hardwall Mounting Kit on air. It’s finally back in stock and it’s brilliant. See what you think, it is so easy.
Looking forward to being back on air very soon including an hour of Lola Rose this Monday 15th December at 4pm followed by Quackery Factory 11th anniversary at 5pm.
Take care, stay warm and I’ll see you soon.
