Liz Earle reveals her beauty secrets in her new book

Liz Earle When we heard Liz Earle was launching her first beauty book 'Skin Secrets', we just had to find out more. So we caught up with the beauty-expert-come-author to ask what it was all about.

So Liz, tell us more about your new book...

My book brings together 25 years of research and knowledge about how to create radiant-looking skin. I think that great-looking skin should be within everyone's grasp and with the right tools and information, it needn't be hard to achieve.

Who is the book aimed at?

I wrote it as a guide for every woman; for my teenage daughter, a pregnant colleague, my menopausal friend and my more mature mother - with a good deal of information for my husband and sons too. It’s also for anyone who has ever written to me or watched me over the years and wants to find out more, whatever their age.

Linda Papadopoulos on achieving great-looking skin

Linda Papadopoulos

Meet Linda Papadopoulos, beauty expert and celebrity psychologist. She's fascinated by the idea that the way we feel can affect the look and health of our skin, and her beauty range Psy Derma stems from this idea.

She took a few minutes to chat to us about the Psy Derma philosophy and what we can do to make our skin look its best.

For more of Linda's advice, tune in to Rejuvenation and You with Alison Young on Friday 6th March at 9pm.

Can the mind really affect the skin?

I've become increasingly aware of the important impact of the mind on the skin. With our lives becoming ever more stressful, the demands we make of ourselves are becoming more and more apparent visually – on our skin.

Why did you become involved in psychodermatology?

I personally got into it after my cousin, to whom I was very close, developed a skin condition that had a huge negative impact on her confidence and self esteem.

After having worked with hundreds of patients, both clinically and through my research, it became clear to me that what was lacking was a range that addressed skin’s health, taking into account a person’s emotional state as well as their physical state - and that's why I'm so excited about Psy Derma.

Discover Philip Kingsley's expert haircare secrets

Philip Kingsley logo The cold winter days can really take their toll on our hair, so we decided to catch up with haircare expert Philip Kingsley to find out what we can do to make it look and feel its very best. Read on to find out what he had to say.

Plus you can tune in this Saturday 14th February at 7pm to pick up more top tips for healthier and shinier hair.

So, Philip, tell us more about the Philip Kingsley haircare philosophyPhilip Kingsley Body & Shine Starter Kit

I first introduced the phrase "Bad Hair Days" nearly 50 years ago. What I aim for now is "Happy Hair Days" – the happier you are with your hair, the more contented you are generally.

The Philip Kingsley philosophy has gradually evolved and here are the essentials:

1. The more frequently hair is shampooed, the better it is. Preferably it should be washed daily, just as you cleanse your face each day.

2. Always use a conditioner after shampooing.

3. You can’t have optimum healthy hair without a healthy scalp. So, we address scalp treatments with hair masks and make certain that the scalp is flake free, as well as feeling comfortable, with special Flaky/Itchy Scalp Shampoo and Scalp Toners.
