I've been wrestling with an interesting, if slightly anoraky, problem for months and have finally found a solution.
In a bid to keep energy costs down and as the government has said they plan to phase out traditional incandescent light bulbs, I've been gradually replacing all the bulbs in our house with low energy ones.
The problem I had was that there wasn’t a suitable alternative for those halogen Dichroic spotlights (GU 5.3 MR16 fitting for the techies out there). LEDs seem to be the way forward but they simply weren’t bright enough (only providing accent lighting). But I finally found something...

Hi everyone, Simon here,
I try to be pretty green but it is a challenge. These are the things that I try to do to help...
1. We use biodegradable soaps for everything at home.
2. I have changed all my light bulbs to low energy ones.
3. My car uses LPG not petrol (much better for the environment).
4. We have an enormous compost heap.

Hi there,
I went to the Comfort Prima High Street Fashion Awards last Thursday and thought I'd fill you in on all the gossip. It took place in London's Battersea Park and it was certainly an evening full of glitz and glamour!
QVC was the official hair and beauty sponsors with Leighton Denny on hand to take care of nails, Louise Galvin in charge of hair and Sue Devitt was the make-up guru! They all did a great job providing the finishing touches to the models and pampering the guests.

Alison is making a start
I'm fairly new to this green thing as, in my part of the world, we've only just been given our recycle bins! So, that said, I do sort out cardboard, tins and glass to be recycled.
I do also try to cycle to the Post Office rather than taking the car, but sometimes I need something larger than a rucksack on a bike to carry the weekly shop! Oh and I re-use my carrier bags at the supermarket. It's a start I guess!

Hi everyone, Anthony here,
I'm actually sat in my hotel room in the heart of Berlin after a second exhausting day of filming at the IFA electronics show. It's the largest showcase of electronics in Europe and the second largest in the world just behind CES in Las Vegas. I went to see what's happening in the world of tech and am here for three days in total - you really need that amount of time to get to see everything here - it's so vast.
I flew out from Heathrow's new Terminal 5. All the gates there have large flatscreen TVs from Samsung, who actually have one of the largest halls at IFA, and coincidently that's the first hall I came across when I got to the show.
