Introducing new fashion on QVC - featuring Zandra Rhodes
March is an exciting month in fashion here at QVC as it sees the launch of some great new brands. One of the most exciting launches is from fabulous British designer Zandra Rhodes with a stunning handbag collection on the 19th. With her signature pink hair, theatrical make-up and inimitable flair, Zandra has been part of the international fashion scene for many years.
She has created designs for royalty and celebrities alike, and her clients have included Diana Princess of Wales, Jackie Onassis, Elizabeth Taylor, Kylie Minogue, Paris Hilton and many more. We caught up with Zandra to find out more about her handbag range…
Bags are such a fabulous extension to one’s wardrobe. With my clothes being so dressy, bags are the wonderful finishing touch. This is the very first time I have designed a leather handbag collection, drawing inspiration from my personal style and designs.
What was the inspiration for the designs in the collection?
I try to cut off from the work of others as I do not want to be too influenced, but find my own solutions.
It’s my own image and style I turn to when I design. I look at each one in the mirror, on myself, with my own clothes from my collection, and my question is always "Does this look right as the finishing touch?" It's what I myself feel fabulous in!
Do you have a favourite design?
The golden seashell evening bag is a large enough clutch to be useful, but as the day is as important as the night, my gorgeous classics with a touch of difference are just wonderful too! My Zoe bag (pictured below) is a great structured design with interesting piping on its flap – it has a very classic touch.
Who would you like to see carrying your designs?
Well! That’s a difficult question. Lady Gaga would be fabulous. It definitely needs to be someone chic – Victoria Beckham or Princess Kate would be perfect!
What are the key trends for this season?
Monochrome, pastel, neutral tones, prim and proper.
Pomodoro fashion
March has also seen the premiere of Pomodoro. This gorgeous range of casualwear is ideal for the contemporary 40 plus woman and features vibrant prints and bold colours.
The brand was founded in 1992 by Noreen and Hermant Puri who wanted to create fashion that was feminine, fashionable and yet affordable.
We'll be showcasing beautiful floral printed tunics and tops, placement print skirts, embroidered camisoles and much more, in a variety of colours that are sure to be winners for the upcoming season.
Green with Envy
Another great name that has recently joined QVC is Green with Envy. This contemporary outerwear range uses recycled labels as well wools, cotton and other organic fabrics throughout their designs.
Stylish and on-trend, the designs include contrast print linings, shiny metal snaps, buttons and zippers.
With everything from asymmetric biker jackets with a cool edge, to classic double-breasted zip coats with timeless appeal, this collection is designed to appeal to the modern woman.

It will be so great to have new designers coming soon. Some have been with QVC a very long time and to my reasoning have become boring and quite stale. The reason I say this is that I was a couture dressmaker for two very good fashion houses in London many years ago, although retired still create for myself so always very interested in the fashion generally on QVC. Looking forward to the future designs. Especially Zandra Rhodes, love her, have two of her outfits from many years ago (when I could afford them!) Thanks QVC.
