The new Lauren G Adams jewellery collection

As part of our Get Gorgeous for Winter weekend we're proud to unveil a brand new fashion jewellery collection - Lauren G Adams. We caught up with the designer, Orly Ovadia, to find out more about her and her fun and fabulous designs...

I called my brand Lauren G Adams after my three children - Lauren, 17, is my middle child; the G is for Gabby, my youngest; and Adams is for my eldest son. His name is actually Eric, but somehow Lauren G Eric didn't sound quite right, so we used his middle name Adam instead! I miss my children when I'm working so it's a good way to be constantly reminded of them when I'm busy.

The signature look to my jewellery is bright colours and feminine prints. I love designs that are really ladylike: flowers, paisley, daisies and so on. I'm also a huge fan of colour, which I inject into all my jewellery with gorgeous enamels. They also give the finished pieces a lovely glossy look.

The other signature to my jewellery is the amount of work on the inside of each piece - it can be cut-outs or more enamelling, but the finish is very important to me. It's all about the little details!

I take my inspiration from all kinds of sources, but I'm particularly drawn to vintage fabrics and prints - I love going through fashion and drapery archives to inspire my new pieces. They also influence the colours I use too - all the enamels are mixed to my own specifications, so you won't find anything with exactly the same colours anywhere else.

My jewellery's very popular with young actresses - Haylie Duff (sister of Hilary) is a fan, as is Rumer Willis, and also many of the contestants on Dancing with the Stars (the US equivalent of Strictly Come Dancing) have also worn my designs.

If I could chose any celebrity to be seen out and about in my jewellery it would have to be Eva Longoria. Or Scarlett Johansson - I love her classic beauty yet funky, modern edge that she always seems to have.

My own personal style icon isn't an actress or singer but a fellow designer, Michael Kors. I love the fact that he designs for real people, not just the privileged or uber-trendy. All his fashion and accessories have a 'realness' to them. I try to do that with my jewellery too; I like to think that anyone who buys my designs wears them every day without worrying about it being the 'in thing' or out of season - it should always be about fun and making you feel good!

If I had to choose just one piece from my collection then I guess it would be the Enamel Flower Station Necklace. It measures over one meter in length, so it's ideal for creating a layered look. It goes great with other necklaces in the collection, and comes in a choice of three colours, which look fabulous when you wear them all together!

For this autumn and winter I would say the one piece you have to have in your jewellery collection is a big statement cocktail ring. Sometimes a big ring is all you need to finish off your look.

Another trend that's still really hot is the whole layered, wrapped and stacked look. Pile on lots of bangles or stack band rings together. Personally I think three or four chains worn together can really finish an outfit.

The one thing I'd say not to worry about is colour. I don't design to a seasonal palette and I think if you want to wear cool white or vibrant red in the middle of winter, then go for it! There are no rules, just wear what YOU like and enjoy every minute of it!

I watched the show yesterday and was delighted to see such beautiful designs and soft colours.

I've never seen such gorgeous 'costume jewellery' in all of my 70 years and must congratulate the designer on her marvelous art.

The enamel work is wonderful and I'm looking forward to owning quite a few of these exquisite pieces, so have noted item numbers and left them dotted here and there about the house for my husband to find...... (big smile)
