As part of our celebration of Coutts London Jewellery Week, we're proud to introduce our very latest jewellery designer - Lesley Vik Waddell.
Lesley is considered to be one of the UK's hottest young talents in jewellery design; she's already worked alongside the likes of John Galliano at Christian Dior, Vivienne Westwood and Antonio Beradi.
We caught up with Lesley as she prepared for her first shows coming up on Wednesday 10th June at 11am and 10pm...
Hi Lesley, we can't wait to launch your new collection at QVC. Tell us about the gems you've used in these new designs.
I'm really excited to be revealing the amazing new Swarovski Enlightened Elements in this collection. If you're as big a fan of Swarovski crystals as I am, then you're going to love the genuine gemstones used in this new collection. Swarovski are using the same revolutionary cutting techniques on the gems as they do on their crystals, creating the most amazing play of light and colour - I love them!
How would you describe your style?
I'd say my designs are intricate, delicate and feminine. My aim is to come up with pieces that are sexy and unique.
What's your favourite piece in this collection?
It has to be the pink sapphire heart earrings. They're timeless and classic, and feature brilliant stone colouring with an incredible play of light.
What inspired you to become a jewellery designer?
My fascination with jewellery began when I was young, I always used to play with my grandmother's jewellery box, which was filled with wonderful pieces handed down to her over the years. I loved the feeling of history and magic found in the beauty of her gems.
How long has it taken to reach the point of launching your own collection?
I studied for 10 years, including researching Liberty's Art Deco jewellery from the 1920s. During this time I also worked as an apprentice to a traditional jeweller, and began working in the fashion industry as an assistant to a head catwalk jeweller.
Which celebrity would you like to design a piece for, and why?
I'd love to design something for Cate Blanchett as she has an effortless sense of style and grace. She also has a great length to her neck and could get away with wearing an exceptional statement piece of jewellery.
What do you enjoy most about being based in London?
London is so cosmopolitan and forward thinking in its style. People in London also have such a unique sense of fashion and there's a real rawness in the music and club culture. It's a very vibrant city to work in and there's always a surprise around the corner!
To catch all of QVC's designers at Coutts London Jewellery Week, tune in every night at 10pm from Wednesday 10th to Sunday 14th June .

Yet again another new range of beautiful jewllery which I can't buy as the ring sizes are too big. I am a size I and J and so many of the rings now available on QVC are just too big. I like to buy jewellery suites, so this means that I can't buy either pendants or earrings either.
