When we heard Liz Earle was launching her first beauty book 'Skin Secrets', we just had to find out more. So we caught up with the beauty-expert-come-author to ask what it was all about.
So Liz, tell us more about your new book...
My book brings together 25 years of research and knowledge about how to create radiant-looking skin. I think that great-looking skin should be within everyone's grasp and with the right tools and information, it needn't be hard to achieve.
Who is the book aimed at?
I wrote it as a guide for every woman; for my teenage daughter, a pregnant colleague, my menopausal friend and my more mature mother - with a good deal of information for my husband and sons too. It’s also for anyone who has ever written to me or watched me over the years and wants to find out more, whatever their age.
What inspired you to write the book?
I just wanted to put all my knowledge and findings in one place. I've spent so many years researching the best natural ingredients for skincare as well as innovative approaches to treating skin conditions and health issues.
I've created a no-nonsense guide, which can be used by all the family and across the generations. I truly believe that simple inexpensive changes - such as switching to plant oils and botanicals - can make a difference to how your skin looks and feels.
Can you give us an idea of what to expect in the book?
Unusually for a skincare book, 'Skin Secrets' takes a holistic approach and includes advice on supplements, unique exercises, facial massage techniques and even low-GI recipes.
There are chapters on everything from sleep to suncare, exercise to facial massage and treating specific skincare problems. I like to think of it as my essential lifestyle guide to looking radiant, feeling fantastic and staying healthy!
