Tova replies to customers about her signature fragrance

Tova Dear everyone,

I want to assure those of you who have written comments about changes to the Tova Signature fragrance. This fragrance is as close to me as it is to all of you. It has my name on it and so the integrity of it is equally important to me. Neither the formula nor the fragrance has changed at all, that I can tell you with confidence.

When I celebrated the fragrance's 25th Anniversary I introduced a new artTova Signature 100ml EDP  deco bottle. The original had a frosted, opaque finish and the new one is completely transparent. With a new bottle, it's easy to perceive the fragrance differently. It's like eating ice cream from a bowl you don't usually eat it from - you think it tastes differently!

The other difference with the new bottle is the pump. The stream of fragrance from the new bottle is smaller giving you less fragrance with each pump. This has a huge difference on the laying of the fragrance on the skin. It may even smell different and not last as long. I spray it twice or even more than that to reach the same effect. This pump is being worked on at the moment to help with this.

I promise that I will keep in close touch with you all from now as I would really like to hear what you think has changed to the fragrance. I have lived and breathed this fragrance for over 25 years and want it to remain a classic, which is why I would never change it. I really want to make sure everyone is happy with their Tova beauty items.

With all my love to everyone,

Tova x

I love Tova Signature and got so many compliments when I wore it. After only using it for the past six years, it is now time to order more. Because of the reviews that I have been reading, I will not order it any more until I hear that the original Tova Signature is back. I cannot find a fragrance that I love as much as I love Tova Signature.

Hello Tova I thought it was only myself having a problem with my favourite fragrance.I wrote to you over a year ago using the address on the bottom of the bottle,I also emailed you at qvc, the reply was,qvc did not have any info available. I had been wearing signature for 9 years, however, on one occassion I purchased another bottle, the opaque one with the black top, with it was a slip of paper informing me of revised ingredients, I wonder if I still have this slip of paper.I have to let you know signature did change. The most noticable change was the fragrance didnt last,I could drench myself in it and no one could smell it.This was the only fragrance i ever used and loved the comments i received, now i dont have a favourite, and i'm not a lover of high street fragrances, most of them smell the same. Tova, I miss my lovely signature, its like losing someone close to me.I do hope you can bring this unique, sensual fragrance back to us as it was. Love to you , Patricia.

Ever since QVC bought Tova out, there has been a problem with the scent. I do not believe it's the pump. It is the synthetic ingredients being used now that are cheaper than what Tova used when SHE owned the company.

I have used the Tova fragrance from the first day she first appeared on QVC 18 years ago. It is my exclusive signature scent. I have always garnished comments from people, and know for a fact of 4 people that now wear it regularly.
I have one of the frosted glass oblong 3.3 bottles with the black top left, and I am coveting it. There is a definite change in the fragrance from bottle to bottle. The origional bottle the fragrance is the same. The newer ones, it IS NOT. Now, if Tova is saying the fragrance formula has not changed, it HAS to be the bottles. She says it ages, so it must have something to do with the frosted bottle vs the clear bottle and the light source. My husband is a chemist and he says it is highly possible. As far as the spray goes,I have done that layering more on and it does not work, the fragrance still fades. The only way I can get it to last longer is to layer it with my signature body cream, which I also cannot find the origional anymore. I hope they straighten this out, I love my origional Tova and don't want to have to look for it on the secondary market to buy it. I would love to see Tova buy her company back and retun it to the origional packaging and make her following happy.

Tova I have used your fragrances for over 18 years, it is a part of me. Signature is my favorite, but I also love and use Tova Nights and BM&S. I used to order from Carolyn, from your salon in Beverly Hills. Something has changed and a woman brought up the new bottle, cold the different glass make a difference?

I have a stock of you large kits from the past in the original past and it is beautiful. I can not see you putting your name on something that is not original and classy as you are.

Please, please try and figure out the problem, we can not all be wrong. I miss your bath kits and compact kits, I have them all, many unopened, but, I feel ad for the women who love your fragrances and do not have a stock as I do. I could take a photo of all my Tova Kits and send it in, you would be shocked. The beautiful large box's with the flowers on them, I even saved the box's, the roll on pens, the body scrub.

It has been 18 years and I love it more now than ever. Help us.

God Bless,

A. Sansbury

The first bottle of Tova Signature I bought seemed to have more essential oils in it and everyone used to ask me what was the name of the perfume I was wearing but now nobody ever seems to ask me what perfume I am wearing. Something appears to have changed and the fragrance doesn't linger any more.

I am nearing the end of my last bottle of the timeless Tova Signature scent and am terrified that the one scent I live and die by may be, forever, lost. I have used this scent religiously for YEARS, incorporating the lotions, Body Souffle, etc. and would be broken hearted if it was no longer the same. I've read countless blogs internet-wide regarding the new scent and am hoping that when I finally collapse to the dire necessity of needing a new bottle of my favorite fragrance, I will not be disappointed. After reading through Tova's comments regarding the 25th Annivrsary edition clear bottle, I am curious if the additional light/heat infusion upon the mixed ingredients are causing the mixture to "sour", so to speak. If you think about it, the oppulescent bottle of the ORIGINAL scent prevented the light/heat from entering the bottle at a higher degree than that of the new, clear one. I could be very wrong....I'll admit that I have no degree in molecular biology, but I've learned enough to know that the different levels of heat can have detrimental effects on the way a perfume will ultimately smell. Just a thought....from a nervous, nearly empty bottled, LOYAL, Tova Signature User.

First of all the smell is completely different! I have an old jar of lotion and it does not in any way compare to the new 'stuff' now. Second, since QVC purchased the company they don't age the perfume nearly as long as before. If you saw Tova's last appearance on QVC you would have caught her 'suggestion' to keep the bottle in the box and store it in a dark place. It will get better with age. Nice hint Tova! It used to be aged for 6 months. Now it is aged only 45 days. QVC and TOVA may mislead everyone by swearing the formula is the same but they are not telling the whole story. Terrible customer service!!!

I too have used Tova for years and i thought it was just me, but the fragrance just does't last beyond about three minutes after spraying. I layer and layer but it doesn't make any difference. It's as though it's been watered down some-what, but knowing Tova's integrety, i know this not to be the case, so i was pleased to read that Tova is checking this out. Thank you Tova

The change I have noticed with Signature is that it seems to have a strong 'peppery' note which didn't seem apparent when I purchased this a few years ago. I first noticed the change when I received the crystal bottle set of three in a presentation box about a year or so ago. I didn't return these thinking I would test the Signature one over a few weeks as maybe perhaps as I spray and walk into the cloud of perfume it might be altering due to different clothes I was wearing, or washing powders, etc. Nothing made any diference...it was still very peppery. Some time later I ordered another set (small square bottles) also in a presentation box just in case there was a problem with the last batch I ordered, but it's still peppery. I'm sure something has changed as Signaure doesn't smell as good as it did a few years ago. My first purchase of Signature was in a large single oblong bottle with a black top, and the smell was absolutely georgous with no peppery smell.

I have been using Tova signature for a few years now and recently tried the summer fragrance which I thought was lovely and would buy again, I havn't noticed any difference in the fragrance of Signature since the bottle changed so I'm not sure what the fuss is about, I love it and have done since I first bought it and will continue to buy more when necessary.

Whilst I appreciate the comments given by Tova, I find it very difficult to believe that just because it is in a different bottle you think it smells differently (my nose tells me it does). As for the problem with the spray, I have sprayed a number of layers of signature and it still smells different - my husband could not recognise what scent I was wearing (I have been using it for more than 10 years) and it smells slightly sour. I have also had a new bottle of Body Mind and Spirit, my favourite perfume in the whole range, and that is the same as Signature - just does not smell the same, even when you spray a number of layers. I am afraid to say that having spent a lot of money (up until recently well spent I would say) over the years on Tova fragrances, I will not be buying any more sadly.
