Meet our second Breast Cancer Care model - Angela Edgcombe

This year we're following three of Breast Cancer Care's Fashion Show models on their journey from casting to catwalk.

A couple of weeks ago we introduced you to the first model, Lance Bryant, and now it's time to meet our second model - Angela Edgcombe. She joined Lance and 23 other models on the catwalk at The Show on Wednesday 1st October.

Last year Angela attended The Show as a guest, but this year she makes the leap to modelling there. 'I was lucky enough to go to The Show last year and I was so impressed with the whole event that I decided to apply to model.

'I'm very keen to promote the image of women living positively with secondary, incurable breast cancer. Also, I thought it was about time for a tall, plus-size model to take to the catwalk!

'I'm really looking forward to being able to wear some beautiful clothes, and having my hair and make-up done by the experts. I can't wait to stride out on that catwalk and leave my friends and family with some great memories. And secretly, I think I might actually be rather good at it!'

Angela's lfe has changed dramatically since her diagnosis in 1999. She retired from her job as an NHS nurse and has thrown herself into living life to the full, taking up amateur dramatics and singing along the way.

She's also trained as a Breast Cancer Care peer support volunteer to help other people deal with their diagnoses of breast cancer. Angela's an active member of the Breast Cancer Care Secondary Taskforce, which aims to improve the care, support and treatment for everyone living with secondary breast cancer.

What an inspiration you are Angela. You look amazing!! I was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 years ago at the age of 39. I feel great now and just try and enjoy every day. I applied to be a model for the show last year but sadly didnt get through, going to keep trying though!!
