Claudia I like the curly hair that you had. My hair grew very slowly when I was younger but I think I would have liked to try that style if things were otherwise.

Oh Claudia, I'm a similar age to you and I've had quite a few fashion disasters when I was younger. When I was 16 I invested in a yellow and black check shirt. I've a horrible (now well hidden) photo of myself at a Sixth Form Christmas party wearing the shirt, some black trousers, my hair half up and curled and backcombed and with my lips painted a bright orange-red! Just hideous - my friends did try to tell me, but would I listen?
We all used to go to school with long socks pushed down like legwarmers (which were banned at our school!) over the top of blue or black tights; we all backcombed of course and wore yards of black lace in our hair, and about 20 silver bangles on our arms. It made such a racket when 20 girls began writing all at once! Our school uniform was grey and white so we couldn't be too outrageous but, although makeup was forbidden, there were few girls who didn't arrive at school with electric blue eyeliner and mascara in place!
I actually don't think we should feel too embarassed - it wasn't our fault we had to do our teenage fashion experimentation in a horrible fashion era!
