Catherine Huntley's summer style

Hello everyone,

As the British summer has been a bit of a wash-out, I thought I'd reminisce about sunnier times and holidays!

Pre-holiday rituals
Before I go away I use a bit of fake tan so I don’t stand out like a lily-white beacon on the beach! It also helps me to get into the holiday mood.

Other than that I'm quite last minute when it comes to the planning, and spend the first day realising I've forgotten everything! Usually the travel adaptor, toothpaste, knickers etc!!

Suitcase must-haves
When I go on holiday, my suitcase essentials are a bikini and something to cover up with - a kaftan or a summery dress usually.

I also take comfy Birkenstocks and wellies when braving Glastonbury. This is the first year for a few that I didn't go to Glastonbury, so the wellies have stayed dry in the garage!!

Make-up wise you can't go wrong with waterproof mascara and lipgloss. Oh and SPF make-up.

Beach dressing
For beach holidays I always take boobtube dresses - they're easy to slip on and off over your swimming cozzie! I've got a stretch-jersey dress which doesn't crease if it's rolled up in a bag so it's ideal as an easy cover-up.

If you don't want to go without make-up on the beach, my tip would be lipgloss, lipgloss and more lipgloss!! 

Dressing for the British summer
When I'm at home in the summer I don't really wear shorts outside of the privacy of my own home, but I do like to be cool so I wear long flowing skirts and dresses.

My favourite fashion trend for summer is the maxi dress, they cover all manner of lumps and bumps!

I also have to make sure I don't get shoulder-strap tan lines as they may show up on-air, so I've got a few boobtube tops and dresses.
