Q, V and C on QVC

Jill's friends; Queenie, Veena and Catherine I was racking my brain last week trying to think what I could write for my blog this week. I went out to lunch with a few girlfriends last week who are big QVC fans and we put on our QVC thinking caps for new ideas.

We just weren't getting anywhere when all of a sudden I realised my blog for this week was staring me in the face. I jumped up and screamed at the top of my voice 'I've got it! I've got it!' nearly taking the table, coffees and cakes with me. Saving the handbags from any spillage of course. 'What, what, what?' asked my girlfriends, sounding like the Beverley Sisters (looking years younger of course!).

How had I never realised this before? There they were, my three beautiful girlfriends who happened to have the same initials as QVC. Queenie, Veena and Catherine. So I decided to dedicate this blog to them and get their feedback on what they love on QVC and what they would like to see more of! Lunch was going to be so much longer than we thought but the cappuccinos and chocolate cake kept us going.

Let me introduce them to you. No better place to start than with the one and only adorable Queenie.

Queenie Q is for Queenie

She is beautiful, glamorous and a shopaholic and known to me and my girlfriends as the Queen of Shopping, the reason for her nickname Queenie. Yes girls, she can actually out-shop me! Her closet is just like the one Big bought Carrie in the Sex and the City movie – yes I am SOOOOOOOOOO jealous…

Queenie loves Butler & Wilson and is the proud owner of many of Simon's handbags and couture jewellery pieces. Lola Rose and Bibi Bijoux are just a few others that sit proudly in her jewellery chest. As for beauty, that's another blog for another day!

She was wearing Leighton Denny 'Supermodel' whilst I was grilling her on her QVC favourites.

Queenie would love to see more fashion along the lines of designers such as Matthew Williamson, Julian McDonald and Stella McCartney. Designer sunglasses were also on the top of her QVC wish-list to be seen on air. And this was just a few that she reeled off from the tip of her tongue with such ease.

Trust me it was practically one for every letter of the alphabet. How cool would it be if all of them did an exclusive range for QVC. What a great idea!!

Veena V is for Veena

She's kind, generous and a true friend who is beautiful with it. She is a beauty fanatic and loves all her latest lotions and potions and hangs on Alison Young's every word.

I have spotted L'Occitane, Decleor and Cosmetics a la Carte in her bathroom. A few favorites are Ojon shampoo and conditioner to shine and protect, Elemis Frangipani shower cream and body oil and Elemis oxygenating night cream; Caviar base and top coat and Knightsbridge for her toes are just a few Nails Inc favourites.

She loves to watch Smashbox, Bobbi Brown and Ojon as she picks up so many tips from the professionals and loves the results and the fact that she is sitting snug and cosy on her sofa and not paying a penny for the expertise.

She would love to see more haircare brands and would love a brand to bring out a body oil that can be used in the shower, bath and neat on the body after a shower that has no smell and can work with her favourite perfume without interfering. Now that would be a luxury for the body. I would definitely be on QCut for that.

Catherine C is for Catherine

Blonde, cute, quirky and certainly not to be messed with. So guys, there are no blonde moments here, except when they suit the situation, of course! She loves fashion, Northern Nights luxury linens and platinum and diamond jewellery, and I know she has a few DQ platinum clad pieces including a pair of Tacori earrings and bracelet.

Catherine would love to see bigger ring designs in platinum with a contemporary feel. Platinum with pearls could be interesting, she says, and even more white metals with morganite (me too please!)

Northern Nights to bring us more individual pieces as purchases such as pillowcases and sheets and 40cm x 40cm pillowcases in 320 thread count cotton. Dressing her bed is everything, so she'd like more small individual pillows with covers that have an interior design feel.

I would love to know what you like at QVC and what you would like to see more of. Post your comments and let me know.

    Dear Jill
Thank you so much for introducing your friends to us all, I love reading the presenter blogs as I do not get out very much these days due to ill health so I feel that the world comes to me via everyone else.
I spoke to you on air the other week about this, but I felt I could not let the opportunity go by to reiterate the need for small shoes to be available on QVC namely size 2’s. I am sure that there must be lots of ladies out there with small feet like me!
LOVE QVC fashion and buy lots of Kim & Co, Indigo Moon and Centigrade – just need the shoes to go with them all.
My skin has improved dramatically over the past eight years thanks to Liz Earle, Gatineau, Decleor and Elemis.
I am a big Laura Geller fan as well and find her demonstrations so informative.
So a big thank you to QVC for the many lovely products I have bought over the past eight years.

Hello Jill, I love BAGS!!! Kipling, Kathy Van Zeeland and Butler and wilson are my favorites… I just cannot help myself when they are on air…
I am trying to save to be able to purchase a Lulu Guinness – but saving doesn’t go far as I keep spotting another bag, that I simply have to have…
I would love QVC to start selling Aveda hair care – It used to be available on QVC but suddenly stopped, now I have to look elsewhere and not have the great QVC prices… I have to say I agree with your friend Queenie that sunglasses would be great as well…

    Hi Jill
I have to agree with your friend Catherine that it would be lovely to see Morganite with white metals.
I am also a bagoholic and I find it hard to resist Kipling bags!!I could not live without SBC and Elemis, in fact I could not live without QVC!!
How about QVC selling trendy well made wide fitting shoes (triple E)as like many others I struggle to find lovely shoes, as most wide fit shoes tend to be frumpy.
Love your presenting style so friendly and relaxed.
    Love Hilary

    Dear Jill,
I would love a whole programme for the smaller and shorter womem,
I would like to see short and three quarter sleeves on all of the tops, also cropped and shorter trousers,I would also like to see skirts at different lengths.I have spent a small fortune on alterations regarding length on trousers even shortening the length on T Shirts.A whole programme dedicated to us – “reet peteeters”only. That`s a good name for the programme don`t you think. Fingers crossed ,and hope you can help. Thanks Glynis.
