Elemis expert Keeley answers your questions: Part 2

4

Keeley from Elemis Hi everyone, Keeley from Elemis here,

I'm back again with more answers to your questions. If yours wasn't answered in part 1, you may find a solution in this second part.

Q.
I’m in my forties and seem to be having a problem with open pores. Is there anything I can try to minimise this?

Posted by J Cooke

A. Always making sure you exfoliate then apply a facial mask will make a huge difference. I would recommend using Papaya Enzyme Peel twice a week followed by Pro Collagen Quartz Mask.

Q. Hi Keeley, I have broken capillaries around my nose but also on cheeks and chin. I have recently started to get whiteheads and wonder if medication for HBP could be a cause. How can I best treat both problems?

A. It sound likes we need moisture and protection on the skin so I would introduce SOS Emergency Cream as a moisturiser on its own or mixed in with Pro Collagen Marine Cream.

Q. I struggle with dark circles under my eyes. Please recommend any products that could help.

I also am looking for an exfoliator. I currently use Phytopeel but do not like the harsh feeling when having to 'rub' it off.

A. Lisa, in the morning and evening apply the Absolute Eye Serum followed by Visible Brilliance Serum then your chosen moisturiser. Twice a week apply Absolute Eye Mask - that can be left on for a more intense treatment. As far as exfoliating, try Papaya Enzyme Peel – it’s fantastic and requires no pulling on the skin at all.

Q. I have puffy eyelids. My left eye is worse than my right. Please can you help? I don't know how to solve this problem. I have deep set eyes too, which doesn't help! I am 62, but still want to look as good as I can.

A. Maggie, I would certainly say to use the Absolute Eye Serum in the morning and evening, the Absolute Eye Mask 2-3 times a week (this can also be left on overnight) and please increase your water intake to at least two litres a day.

Q.
I have a lump on my cheek which has been there for about a year now. Is there anything I can do to get rid of it? I have tried the Elemis Resurfacing set, which I do like but the lump is still there. Help

A. The SOS Emergency Cream may help, or apply the Tri Enzyme Gel Mask to that area 2-3 times a week.

Q. Hi Keeley, my skin behaves really well and then all of a sudden I just break out (usually to the side of my chin). They are just solid painful lumps. I keep my skin really clean but I must admit to using quite a variety of ranges. A bit of yours, Cleanse and Polish, Dr. Hauschka now and then and also Clinique (the anti-blemish range and Repairware). It all works fine for a while and then the spots appear. Could it be hormonal or just too many product lines? Just annoying as I seem to spend so much! Thanks.

A. Lesley, definitely too many different products will confuse your skin. It also sounds like a bit of stomach issues so you may be stressed or certain foods may be effecting you. A 1-2 months' course of Bliss Capsules would really help you, and try and keep your cleanser, toner and moisturiser to the same brand as some of the brands you are mixing conflict with each other.

Q. Hi Keeley, I am 40 and have had pigmentation on my cheeks for the past 5 years or more. I have had laser treatment but it has not improved this. I have the Tri Enzyme range but am unsure how to use to improve this.

I do go on holidays every four months so am in the sun but always use Ultrasun face protection factor 30. The condition of my skin looks good and I have regular facials and exfoliate regularly. Could you tell me please what else I can do to get rid of the pigmentation?

Posted by Heather Gibbons

A. Heather, pigmentation is a hard one, especially if you do go into the sun. You need to use the Tri Enzyme in the morning and evening then tone. Morning and evening apply two pumps of the Tri Enzyme Serum in the day, follow with Pro Collagen then an SPF30. In the evening, follow with Tri Enzyme Night Cream after using the serum. Twice a week exfoliate with Papaya Enzyme Peel followed by Tri Enzyme Gel Mask.

Q. I have really puffy eyes especially in the morning they don’t seem to settle down until the afternoon. I don’t know if it is better to use a eye night cream or nothing. What would you suggest to use? I use the Elemis eye serum at present.

A. Cheryl, I would keep going with the Absolute Eye Serum in the morning and evening before you apply a moisturiser. Twice a week give the Absolute Eye Mask a go and leave it on overnight – this should make a real difference.

Q. I have broken capillaries especially around my nose. Is there something I can apply to reduce them? I do use a moisturiser with sun screen.

A. I personally would use a moisturiser like SOS Emergency Cream that will give the skin moisture and protection and then apply an SPF 30 separately over the top like Liquid Layer.
