Put your best foot forward for the party season

Monthly Style PickThe QVC fashion team are excited to introduce our brand new monthly style pick – each month we will be showcasing a group of products, styles or trends that we think deserves the spotlight for the whole month.

Each style pick will be chosen by our expert fashion buyers in the head office. This month our Fashion Accessories Buyer, Deborah, thinks that October should be the month to choose your shoes for the upcoming party season so October's style pick is PARTY SHOES!

Here Deborah tells us more about how we can choose the perfect party season shoes…

What I love most about all of the party shoes at QVC is that they cross over many of the style trends that we are seeing across fashion and accessories for autumn/winter. This means that rather than being pigeon-holed into one trend, these styles will let you adapt your look to suit many different trends, so however you wear them you will be stylish! Here are the main party shoes trends for the season:

Marta Jonnson court shoes1980s Power Dressing

The decade of the 1980s is a big influence in this season's fashion. I love the power dressing style of this era and in footwear this was created with pointy stilettoes often in bright colours and long high heeled boots with pointed toes. These styles of footwear finish your look with a feminine and chic touch. The classic high heeled court is a must have for the party season, while a lower heel is great as the elegant stiletto is still part of the design but also with more comfort. The metallic leather toe cap finish gives this a stylish twist, brings in the metallic trend and works so well with the pointed toe – like these beautiful Marta Jonnson heels.

Clarks kitten heelsRetro Chic Elegance

This season is all about chic and sleek, with the 1920s being reminisced. Metallics are a great way to achieve this elegance with minimal detail required. Adorning these shoes are beautiful embellishments and sparkling trims, rounded toe shapes with slight platforms and Mary-Jane style courts are a gorgeous options for this. The Mary Jane style gives a vintage element, looks feminine and sophisticated. A hidden toe platform is a great design feature although I think this is most effective when it is subtle as it remains classy and sophisticated. A high ankle heeled court is so sophisticated, with an eye-catching design – perfect for the party season. These low kitten heel shoes from Clarks feature a beautiful 1920s embellishment on the front.

Unisa suede court shoesGentle Colour and Rich Brights

The contrast between gentle muted hues and rich bright shades in leathers or suede materials are key for this coming season. Suede is a material being used extensively from top end designers through to the high street. It gives bright colours an elegant twist with an almost matte finish, while keeping neutral shades looks classic. These Unisa suede court shoes sum up the trend beautifully.
