Proper Pots and Plants

3

For the very first time, I think, we have an incredible plants and pots collection for our Today’s Special Value offer. All day on the 4th February, Plants2gardens will bring us a most beautiful selection of wonderful plants, together with absolutely magnificent ‘proper’, big, beautiful and long-lasting pots.

It really is incredible value, giving you a variety of beautiful displays for around £7 each, including the pot! If that weren’t enough it’s all you need (bar the compost) for some amazing displays for the forthcoming spring and summer. You will receive 20 plug plants (five varieties, four of each) as well as four hand-finished Fleur de Lys Planters – available in two colour options, aged black or a copper finish – in which to plant five plugs in each (one of each variety).

Now when I talk about plug plants, these aren’t the little, teeny weenie ones that take five or six weeks on the windowsill before you plant them up, these are big garden-ready beauties (3cm plugs)! All you need to provide is some compost, and Richard Jackson’s Premium Multi-Purpose Compost is regarded by many as being one of the best around (over 46,000 of this duo have been ordered).

When I chatted at the weekend to our guest Ken Evans, I was keen to find out about the plants as I know Ken is a specialist at choosing beautiful and rather special and unusual plants that give amazing impact. and when I got the list of what’s included I couldn’t believe the line up – these are premier league plants!

– 4 x Petunia Surfinia Purple – RHS AGM medal, the first, original and best

– 4 x Nemesia Aroma Banana and Cream – Chelsea Gold Medal – RHS AGM medal, the first, original and best. Bred by UK breeders over 20 years to achieve this stunning colour

– 4 x Bacopa Secrets XXL – the biggest and best on the market, real giant variety that fantastically performs

– 4 x Verbena Voodoo Red Star – unique and stunning flower colour, brilliant addition to display

– 4 x Calibrachoa Celebration Neon Rose – beautiful flower colour and excellent habit

In chatting to Ken, I now understand this is a very unique collection, hand-selected by professional breeders, that will be guaranteed to wow the neighbours and really bring a very satisfied smile to your face.

In the past I have variable results with my hanging baskets and pots and after all the work and anticipation it can be a bit underwhelming if the results aren’t what you expect, but this collection is definitely going to be a winner and even the most demanding of gardeners will be very happy. You can reserve your limited edition collections on Saturday and they will be dispatched the week commencing 24th April , just in time for putting outside ready for the summer (and you don’t even have to pay for them until then! yay).

There’s a full colour care leaflet with the delivery which includes a diagram of suggested planting positions in the pots and Ken will also demonstrate how to plant things up on the show. I’m sure he will throw in a bit of RJ’s fabulous Root Booster and I’ll be recommending that when you start feeding all your plants you will get the best award-winning results from the old flower power. I go the easy route and use the all-season version.

I’m really delighted that I will be in on Saturday 4th, so will be able to see all the plants and chat to Ken on the day. Join me at 9am, 10am and 110am on Saturday morning.
