The rascals

Prizes, Magniflex TSV and a painful shoulder!

3

Hello!

Yes, lots of sympathy needed please. ;-)

I’ve hurt my back and it’s really painful… ouch! Actually, it’s a reoccurring problem just underneath my right shoulder blade. It was self inflicted several years ago when I was lifting some weights in the gym and didn’t follow the correct technique – lesson learnt. :-(

Boy, did I pay dearly the next day. I couldn’t move, literally. I was stuck on the stairs. I was subsequently taken to the doctor who gave me very high strength medication to ease the spasm and pain.

Every now and then it causes me real discomfort and today is one of those days. Sadly no tennis for a day or two; and it feels strange holding the dog leads in my left hand.

On a cheerier note we’re now in the month of October which I’ve renamed to ‘Wintober’! I have some fabulous prizes up for grabs, including a platinum bracelet with a retail value of around £1000! I can’t wait to bring that to you.

Platinum bracelet

We start though with the Bodyblade – I know Debbie Flint is a huge fan and is really starting to see the benefits. Not only will you receive the blade but the ‘Burn & Sculpt’ DVD too.

Entering is easy – simply follow me on twitter and retweet the competition (i’m @mecharliebrook). This prize is worth over £60, and all the terms and conditions are available here. Remember to follow and retweet by 5pm on Tuesday 7th October to enter… good luck… someone has to win ;-)

I’m enjoying a few days off now and plan to do a spot of DIY over the weekend. We have a new boiler being fitted very soon (our current boiler is very inefficient and I think from the Jurassic Period), so I have to prepare for the visit of the installation team, by removing a kitchen unit. I’m also hoping to get a spot if tennis in – shoulder permitting (did I mention I’ve hurt my back) – and of course plenty of walks with my two little rascals.

I’ll be back on air Monday 6th October and I’m especially looking forward to launching the new Magniflex Today’s Special Value on Tuesday 7th at midnight. Magniflex specialise in state of the art memory foam mattresses, toppers and pillows, and our upcoming TSV is no ordinary mattress.

Magniflex mattress

The Magniflex dual core memory foam mattress is designed to bring you the most incredible night’s sleep with ultimate luxury. Not only does it feature some of their latest cutting-edge memory foam, but the very clever design also allows you to adjust the level of support and comfort.  It gets even better, because in the double, king and super king you and your partner can customise your own side of the mattress to meet your individual needs. So clever. Then of course, there’s the Coolmax fabric which is designed to wick away excess heat and moisture to help deliver the perfect environment. It sounds like the perfect night’s sleep… Zzzzz.

I’ve slept on Magniflex before. The feeling of weightlessness along with the gentle yet contouring support is heavenly. The range is beautifully made in Italy from where my special guest Stefano is flying from to join me – I hope you can join us too.

In the meantime… the DIY won’t take care of itself. Having said that, I think it had better put that on hold as I’ve hurt my shoulder… did I mention I have a bad back. ;-)

Take care and see you soon.

Charlie x

P.S. well done if you correctly guessed last week’s picture – a strip of staples. Tricky one! Another picture will follow soon.

    Hi Charlie,
Sorry to hear about your shoulder, I know how you feel as I get this problem with my shoulder everyday, also my neck and back, due to several falls off my horse. I go to an Osteopath regularly for treatment and have my shoulder strapped, I feel okay for a few days, although I still take painkillers most days. I also find it hard with my dogs sometimes as they are pretty strong and I use my left arm to lead them, and sitting at the Computer is just awful, in fact any bending is.
Never mind I always think there are lots of people worse off than me.
Am looking forward to the Magniflex TSV, as I am looking to purchase one of their mattresses, I did purchase the recent featherbed from Northern Nights as the one we had was needing to be replaced, that one was quite supportive. Unfortunately I have to say that this one is not, I have slept on it for two weeks now and everyday get up with an awful backache. I definately need more support.
Anyway Charlie you will not be able to do any food shows on QVC as with a bad shoulder you will not be able to lift your spoon or fork to taste the food. What did you say it is not that bad. Hope it is soon better.
    Take Care.
    Love Jean X

    Hello Jean,

Oooh, it sounds like you’re having some discomfort and pain with your back and shoulder. I do hope it feels better soon. I haven’t horse ridden for years. Last went pony trekking on Exmore. Sorry to hear you haven’t had success with the Feather Bed. Do use the money back guarantee. I know thousands upon thousands adore the toppers – but they’re not for everyone. Magniflex I think really is worth a try and I hope you have great success. Let me know how you get on. I’ll manage some food!

    Take care

    Charlie
