Spring is definitely here; the days are getting longer, the sun is shining more and with all of that comes the promise of Summer! Many of us, in fact, are already entertaining flights of fancy about holidays spent on golden beaches, long lazy days and warm balmy sunsets.
Preparations for summer fun will soon be getting into full swing, but when the temperatures start to go up it is important to be sure your wardrobe doesn't let you down!
With that in mind, on QVC we will be bringing you some of the hottest looks with our Your Summer Fashion event on Friday and Saturday this week!
Before that though, resident fashion expert and professional stylist Miceal Murphy had a catch up with the girls in the Fashion department, stole the keys to the backstage closet and had a good look through the trends we can expect to see. Click on each image to get a closer look at Miceal's picks.
Ever since Yves Saint Laurent created his 'Mondrian' dress based on the colour blocks used in the eponymous artist's famous paintings, designers have been looking to the world of art for inspiration.
This season saw Celine, Prada and Chanel utilising graphic spray can graffiti prints and paintbrush strokes.

This look is all about being fun, vibrant and, most importantly, colourful! I say you don't need to wear this look head-to-toe but rather just add a hint of it to one key piece.
I have used a Nina Leonard tunic with great, vibrant colours that look as though they could almost have been painted on. Pair this with some ivory crepe de chine trousers from Chelsea Muse by Christopher Fink, a pair of blue suede peep toe wedges for comfort and style from the Boutique range by Peter Kaiser, and accessorised with our fab Kipling Rayanne bag in Denim Blue, which will be our Today's Special Value on Saturday (12th April). Outfit complete, you're ready for some summer fun!
Seen at the Balmain, Isabel Marant and Balenciaga, this look was sugary, soft, flattering and ultra feminine. Best of all, it's so easy to wear!

When those hot summer days melt into dusky sunsets you can bask in the afterglow with this romantic look. Keep it easy and relaxed and you'll look just peachy!
I have paired a Ronni Nicole lace dress (another of this season's big trends) with the most gorgeous orYANY bag in soft tones of beige and pink, and then added Friday's Betula by Birkenstock TSV in Cafe au Lait.
Fashion goes a little yee-haw this season with a love of all things Americana! Whether a little distressed, sun-bleached or true blue – denim was seen on many catwalks for SS14 from DKNY to Balmain and Louis Vuitton.
This look is all about how you dress it! Mix with leathers and suedes, play with proportions and channel the feel of the prairies.

If you want to be at the heart of the denim trend then go for a light washed colour, like Diane Gilman in a chambray. I have opted for Diane's skinny jeans with jewelled button detail in dark indigo as it's the most flattering colour to wear.
This has been teamed with a white lace top from Annalee+Hope which adds a lighter, freer feel to the look. Dress it up with a pair of leather ankle boots or even some wedges like these Marta Johnson navy suede leather studded wedge heels, or roll those jeans up above the ankle and wear with a pair of our Betula by Birkenstock sandals in white (our TSV on Friday 11th April) for the ultimate in relaxed comfort.
Finish the look with an oversized bag from orYANY and you are ready for your day.
It was an era that was obsessed with modernity and glamour, which is exactly the direction in which designers like Christian Dior and Pabal Gurung took the look.

I have gone for a classic 50s retro look with a full skirt and twinset, keeping the colour palette simple and chic.
Taking a modern twist on the full skirt I have used a white four panel skirt in crinkle effect from the Yong Kim range, and using a simple white vest top, have layered a pale blue and white two tone cardi from Marble over the top. I love this cardi for this look, with its button details on the sleeves and the bows on the front, it is perfect. A great little bag from the orYANY range in tones of blue and featuring a chain strap looks so elegant.
I have finished the look with the most beautiful peep toe tonal suede shoes with bow detail from Peter Kaiser. The bows with the peep toe giving us the ultimate in 50s glamour and, if you'll excuse the pun, ties the whole look together!
Be sure to tune in to our Your Summer Fashion event on Friday and Saturday to see more of these great looks as well as a whole range of ideas for the season ahead.
As mentioned, I have used some items that will be appearing as TSVs this weekend so tune in for Betula by Birkenstock Power sandals on Friday and Kipling's Rayanne bag on Saturday.
Until next time, remember you don't need to be a slave to fashion but you can be friends with it!
