Time flies when you’re on holiday!

Dale Franklin applying Ultrasun in SpainHoliday? What holiday?

It's the same every year, isn't it?

We had a lovely, relaxing break on Spain's Costa Blanca, but within a few days of returning everyone's back into the hectic swing of modern life.

But I'm not grumbling, I realise that I'm very fortunate to be able to take a summer break away.

The weather was scorching hot and we didn't really see any clouds. I spent most of the time under a sun brolly reading e-Books, after having first covered myself in Ultrasun.

We took various different sun factors with us but the Sport SPF 20 & 30 options proved to be the most popular for us all – with a bit of 30 for the face! It's the best protection we've ever used as a family. If you love Ultrasun, what option suits you?

Wild flamingos in SpainI took my Fuji HS50 Bridge camera and got some fantastic shots, although not award-winning!

The flamingo photo was a treat to shoot, I didn't realise flamingos were even found in Spain? They were several hundred yards away and the heat haze blurred the picture, so I was chuffed to capture it.

From what I've heard it was boiling here as well. I kept running back in every ten minutes to hear the latest Ashes score. The result of the first two tests just added to my happy demeanour.

Huge thanks to my neighbour Jim, who was on watering duty for me and kept all my plants and flowers alive – including my Thompson & Morgan Lilies, part of the Great QVC Presenter Lily challenge!

Toby managed to find a cool sheltered spot in mum's garden most of the time, so he had a stress free break as well.

Dale and Charlie BrookI hope you were able to catch mine and Charlie's Diamond Spectacular last Sunday. We had a wonderful reaction from everyone on Twitter, text and telephone.

It really made the three hour show seem like an hour, so thank you from me-buddy and I.

I've got some great shows coming up this week as well with Ron Norsworthy, Vax and Bamix. I'm also joining Kathy for the Morning Show on Thursday! Hope you join us!

This week's "just for fun" photo might take a little more imagination… it's of Charlie and I backstage minutes before our Diamond Show. Have a go!

Take care till next time and remember you can follow me on Twitter – @dalefranklintv

They are both thinking the same “these Spanx are really killing me but I will keep smiling and not let on. As they say in showbiz the show must go on”.

I did catch you and Charles on the Diamond Show and thoroughly enjoyed it – great fun :)
I wish you’d stop giving them smouldering looks to camera though every time you go to a break; I had to be revived 4 times during the show and I haven’t heard from Ma since, so goodness knows if she’s ok or not :)
Are you sure you like Ultrasun? That photo has a look of ‘shall I or shan’t I’ look on your face, ha ha. I’m sure it was just the sun!!
I’m in a hurry this morning D so doing this very fast; hope no spelling errors.
    Just for fun:

    JUST FOR YOU X
    Daleo in his short shorts
    Paddling in the sea
    No he isn’t dancing
He just wants to have a wee

D, I’m not on Twitter or Facebook so hope you don’t mind if I use your Blog to say how very sad I was to hear about the very beautiful Amica. So so so so sad; she was a gorgeous, beautiful lady and I thought of her often during her illness. First beautiful Beulah and now beautiful Amica; how very cruel life can be.

Thanks for all your great comments – I will reply to them all – but felt it only right to start by saying how well put Gail’s comment was.
Amica was a beautiful person, elegant, eloquent and kind. I’m privileged to have presented so many hours with her and have such fond memories of our Jewellery shows together over the last 16 years – like so many, I still can’t believe the sad news and my thoughts are genuinely with her wonderful family who she was so devoted to. As Gail mentions, together with the recent sad passing of our lovely Beulah, many associated with QVC, both staff and Customers alike are left feeling more than a little empty. I will always cherish happy and amusing memories of them both.
    God Bless them
    Dale

Good one Teresa ! I can see where you’re coming from!
Thank you Martin – I did, I hope you are well.
Marian and Gail – wot can I say ! Ma my pal Neal once burnt his face with an iron, trying to ascertain if it was on!! True story and he was sober.
Gail , you’re right that’s one part of my anatomy that’s never met ultrasun! We had climbed halfway up a mountain when Ali took that photo and I was starting to glow!! Hence my chastened expression! Thanks to Ultrasun the whole family enjoyed the sun.
Thanks to you all for making my blog such fun
    Dale xx

Psst D, you shouldn’t be posting photos of you and your girlfriend on Twitter!! That lady definitely isn’t old enough to be your Mum; if she is I’ll have a pint of what the lovely lady is on. Lovely photo D and you are very lucky to still have your Mum around, a very glamourous one too. Hope you spoil her wrotten xx.
