On the new garden set

Post-Easter prep for an upcoming milestone birthday…

6

Hello,

I can’t believe Easter has come and gone already! I worked for half of it, but did manage to have one night out on Easter Saturday when hubby and I met up with one of my sisters, her husband, our niece and her partner. We met in London and had a delicious Korean meal.

We took a snap of us three girls – in age terms we span three decades: twenties, thirties and forties. But realised we all have exactly the same big witchy chin – see the photo! We had such fun. I do love being with my family.

Now with April just starting I only have a few weeks of my forties left – the big five-oh is imminent.

I’ll be doing a huge giveaway on my blog to celebrate… stand by for that very soon!

I’m also continuing to test new anti-ageing skincare, in an effort to look as good as possible as I approach the big day. I’ve just started trying Niod, a relatively new range to QVC.

It stands for Non-Invasive Options In Dermal Science, and I love scientific brands so it appeals to me.

There’s no pretty packaging or lovely scents – they are pure, high-tech, anti-ageing products. It’s different in that it doesn’t just target the signs of ageing that are already there, it also encourages your skin to increase its defences against future damage. It certainly looks and feels very different to anything else I’ve tried, so I’m looking forward to seeing what it can do.

At work we have a gorgeous new outdoor set – have you seen it yet? It’s going to be just fabulous to work in when we get some better weather.

However, I did my first outdoor show a couple of weeks ago when we did our big Garden Re-Leaf charity day for Green Fingers and it was… freezing!

I actually had two coats on: a Dennis Basso faux fur and a padded QVC gardening jacket on top of that.

And I was still shivering!

Our lovely floor managers kept us going with regular hot drinks though and we still had a lot of fun. The set is stunning – we have such talented set designers and builders here. I’m looking forward to being out there lots through the spring and summer.

Stay warm this week – see you soon!

I have just read your Cora Baxter novel. Its really, really good and although I guessed the killer before the end it did not detract from my enjoyment.

Hi, Jackie! You and me both…I’m 50 tomorrow! I have NO IDEA how that happened…I must not have been paying attention! I too have just found Niod and I reckon it’s taken my skin back to my early 40s, if not earlier. Incredible stuff. Pleeeease use your muscle to get the copper/hyaluronic acid set back in stock! And happy birthday in advance!
