Pillow talk

Thank you to those of you who shared your dog stories on here and encouraged me to get another dog, I’m still pondering – I take lots of time to make decisions like this, which I suppose is a good thing. Once again thank you for the well wishes on social media and on my blog too, it really is good to be back and means a lot, I really missed QVC.

Hope everyone who attended the Beauty Bash enjoyed themselves, it was a wonderful week and always great to get the chance to talk to our wonderful loyal customers. It was my third year in a row but I’m still always pleasantly surprised at how knowledgeable you all are when it comes to regimes, tips and beauty generally; I’d imagine that’s what happens after years of watching Ali Young! I had to mention that I found it funny how many of you approached me and mentioned that I’m much smaller in real life than on the telly (note to self to grow before next year’s Beauty Bash)! We hope you got lots of tips and generally had a lovely day out. See you next year!

The much anticipated Elemis TSV at the start of February was a huge hit and as you’d expect very well received, Pro Intense is an amazing range that addresses lots of skin ageing issues we all face; and to reiterate, tremendous value for the collection. Do let us know how you get on with it; perhaps write a review on our website.

To continue with the theme of well-being and self nurture, I’ve been looking at various ways to help have a blissful restful sleep. At the Beauty Bash I spent some time chatting to Anna Persaud the MD of ‘This Works‘ an award-winning aromatherapy skincare range that is designed to do what it says on the package. Anna kindly guided me through some additional sleep strategies I may not have tried and suggested some products from her range which may help. So for the last week or so I have been using This Works Sleep Plus Pillow Spray and the Deep Sleep Bath Oil.

This Works

I love baths anyway so persuading me to soak in Deep Sleep Bath Oil was not difficult, getting me in the bath wasn’t the problem, getting me out was! The first thing you notice is the beautiful, heavenly aroma that not only fills the bathroom but the whole house. As I dipped my toes into the hot deep bath then lowered myself into it I could feel the stresses of the day melt away. For about twenty minutes (maybe more, maybe less – who knows, time wasn’t on my mind) I lay there in a dream-like trance with an Eve Lom rescue mask on, I felt like I was in my very own spa-like sanctuary.

Eventually when I dragged myself out of the bath I was keen to get straight to bed because my muscles felt relaxed as though I’d had a massage. I sprayed the Sleep Plus Pillow Spray, just a few pumps onto my pillow and sank into my Egyptian cotton Northern Nights clad bed. It was bliss, heaven itself and within what seemed like minutes I drifted off into a beautiful night’s sleep. I can safely say that ‘This Works’ will be forever in mind for my bedtime routine and I salute it for being calorie-free pure indulgence. ‘This Works’ works! Thank you Anna for your suggestions, I’m glad this range is finally available on QVC.

In other matters after getting off to a good start with a couple of lessons my DJ-ing has now hit a bit of a brick wall, I’ve blown my speakers up! Please don’t have visions of me obnoxiously banging loud music out driving the neighbours mad, it was some sort of malfunction which I’ve not got to the bottom of. As yet I’ve not got around to ordering new speakers yet but I must because it’s hindering my creative juices.

Yoga is actually going very well; I’ve managed to keep it up a few times a week so far. I’ve been contorted into all kinds of shapes and poses and my balance is much improving. I still feel a bit stiff when I wake up in the mornings, particularly in my lower back but Rome wasn’t built in a day they say. So far it seems I am sticking to my New Year’s Resolutions (despite the speaker hiccup) so the question is: ARE YOU?

    Hi Chloe
Just wondered whether Anna Persaud is any relation to Dr Raj Persaud, the Psychologist, who used to appear on This Morning?

Lovely to see you back on QVC and yes, DO get another doggie.
