This year I have made a few resolutions and, so far, I'm doing well to stick with them. The main one was to make more of an effort to spend time with family and friends as time slips away too fast.

I know this only too well after the loss of Steve's grandfather over Christmas and then, less than two weeks ago, my grandmother passed away too.

It makes you realise that life is very precious and we ought to give ourselves the best chance at a happy, healthy and fulfilled life. This leads me on to another resolution and that is to get back on my pilates machine (even my cats are excited about it!) and to get those Paul McKenna CDs and DVDs back into my routine.

I feel better already! I'm also placing more of an emphasis on good, healthy, freshly prepared foods. I started this on 12th January and already I can see and feel the benefits!

I've had great results with Paul's systems over the years and, best of all, if I do slip back into old habits, he's right there on the bookshelf to help me trim down again! I've taken a series of 'before' piccies, which I plan to show alongside my new, healthier, leaner self once 90 days is up.

It'd be great if you'd like to do the plan with me. We can spur each other on and swap stories, recipes and other tips.

    Hello Catherine,
    Watched Paul and you tonight. I started his system 15 days ago, and am now 13stone 11lbs, having lost 5lbs. I feel so much more positive. It amazes me that I have so much food left in my cupboards, fridge and 2 freezers….guess who used to scoff all the food down mindlessly, after yet another failed guilt#ridden diet!!! Have been dieting since I was 14 and am now 60 and for the first time, I am buying food I REALLY WANT TO EAT, and not the boring ‘sameold’ stuff I have been brainwashed into eating.
    A BIG THANK YOU TO PAUL, good luck to you and also to everyone who buys this system. I JUST LOVE IT!!

    Having watched the show on Friday night Catherine, i am going to give this a go, as i feel it is something that could be of benifit to me, and could also give me some extra confidence and a better outlook towards life. I`ll try and get a current picture of myself, and will give it the 90 days as you are doing, and see what results i get and after 90 days i can also evaluate to see if and where things went wrong, and maybe try another 90 days if i don`t achieve anything the first time round. I am currently taking part in some active exercise on a regular basis, but do tend to over eat to some degree hence why i am willing to give this product a try to see what benifits it could have for me. Would love to hear how you are getting on with your own 90 day program and of course would be keen to hear of any tips etc that you may have. Best wishes to you.

    Hi Catherine,
    I’ve just started using Paul’s system at the beginning of January. So far it’s been very slow but I have lost 1 lb. I feel so much more in control around food and have found a hidden well of confidence I didn’t know I had but I’m really struggling with the eat conciously bit. I’ve a lot of stress in my life at the mo and sitting down to eat seems to act as a trigger for me to start thinking about everything else apart from what I’m actually eating. Can you or Paul make any suggestions? I really like this system and believe it could really work for me, but eating conciously is a real challenge.

    Catherine, I am so sorry to hear about your grandmother. Having lost all my grandparents now, I know only too well how hard a time you will be having. My thoughts and love and best wishes to you and your family.
    While I am not doing the Paul McKenna thing, I have been attempting to be healthier for some time now (since being diagnosed with asthma and deciding I needed to do a bit more to help out my lungs!) – more exercise and better food too. I know, like me, you like good food, so I would like to recommend a series of cookbooks that I have found very interesting and useful. They are by author Sherri Eldridge and they contain lowfat/low calorie recipes, but primarily the recipes are gorgeous. I can particularly recommend her Coastal New England series – there is one for each season, so you can celebrate the changing year as you go. The recipes are American, so you need cup measures but that’s easy enough. The thing is, they never seem like health or diet food and the calorie content of each serving is listed at the end of the recipe. I got mine from that very well-known bookshop on the web.

    Hi Catherine, Glad to hear that you are making such good resolutions!! I know exactly what it is like to lose track of the things that make us healthy and happy… two years ago I purchased Paul Mckennas Cd’d and lost an inredible 5 stone in 7 months which of course made me feel fabulous, but recently I lost a family member and everything went out of the window and I have gained some weight back. I got the Cd’s out of the box at the begining of the week and I’m working them back into my routine… and reading your blog has spurred me on to keep at it and see where I am in 12 months in life and health! I would love to send in a before and after photo when I’m done and a journal of how I got on to help other people feel healhty… thank you for the jolt i needed to keep me pressing on!
    And I’m sure my cats (all 5 of them) will help out with my exercising if not just look on in distaste at the waving arms and legs to loud music!!

    Sorry for your loss, I know how you feel. We lost my father-in-law and my grandmother last year and my grandfather-in-law (90) is now very ill.
    Spending time with love ones is so important.

    Wow, what a lovely surprise for me to read all of your comments! I certainly feel I’m with friends and I think a lot more can be achieved when you do things together as opposed to going it alone. I’ll try and post regular updates and I may even post my before piccies at some stage!
    Mark, I love your positive attitude and look forward to hearing how you get on. Confidence can be a big issue for me, too.
    Sonia, well done on your success so far! Please keep us updated. It’s like we have our own ‘Healthy & Happy’ club!
    Julie, it sounds like you’re making some great changes already. Have you tried much visualisation? This is only my suggestion but maybe you could try visualising yourself eating that lovely food on some beautiful beach or other fantasy destination and, that way, you are still focussed on the food but also busying your mind elsewhere, too. I’d like to recommend a book which helped me through some hard times ‘You can heal your life’ by Louise Hay.     Nicola, I am definately going to have a look for those cookbooks. I do love food so much and there can be tasty healthy food, as you say. Thanks for the recommendation.
    Susan, I am so impressed with how well the system worked for you. Truly inspirational. Life does tend to throw things at us which can undo these good habits but at least with a system like Paul’s you can pick it up again when you need to and there’s no additional expense. Makes it worth every penny and then some. Keep us informed with your progress and give your five cats a tickle under the chin from me!

    Hi Catherine
    Have just started using Pauls system. Hopefully he can re-program a lifetime of bad habits! This blog is a great idea for fellow “trancers” to keep in touch and see how we are all doing. My weakness (well, main one!) is yes, you guessed it, Chocolate! Following Pauls instuctions, my association with chocolate is now a plate of slimey slugs!! Yuk. It’s working so far. Just hope I don’t get an urge to eat a slug! My only problem with the system is that, within 10 minutes of starting to listen to the CDs I’m spark out asleep! Is this normal? I get the feeling you are just supposed to be deeply relaxed but still conscious. Can anyone let me know whether they have the same problem? Maybe it’s not a problem – perhaps that’s supposed to happen. I’d be grateful to hear other peoples experiences or advice.
    It’s reasurring to read Susan’s comment about losing over 5 stone previously on this system. Really well done. Would love to match your achievement.
    Catherine, you look great already! LOVE your cats. I have 2 (Pippa and Henry, both rescue). Sorry for your bad news over the last few weeks. Here to a better, happier and healthier new year for all of us.

    Hi Catherine, Ive just started using Pauls Mckennas ( I can make you thin) the problem is i cannot use the cd due to a medical condition , will the system work just by doing the four rules and visualisation techniques?
