With Valentine’s Day fast approaching, our minds can’t help but turn to all things ‘romance’. We’re not talking about the love we feel for a significant other though, oh no, we’re getting dreamy-eyed over our most-loved purchases. The ones that made us forget our heads and listen to our hearts.
We’ve enlisted the help of our most romantic presenters (let’s hear it for the girls) to talk us through the QVC products, both past and present, that they just can’t be without. Move over roses and chocolates, there’s a few new kids on the block…
And it’s almost embarrassing how much Cozee Home I own. I have the bedding, the throws, the onesies, the robes… at last count I’d bought seventeen duvet sets, and I only have a two bedroom house (several sets were gifts though!). Soft, cuddly, cosy, heavenly.
My top most used, most reordered QVC purchase has to be my ultimate lip treatment, Gale Hayman’s Lip Lift. I fell in love with this when it solved cracked corners of my mouth in 1997, and Alison Young, (thank you, oh beauty guru) insisted I should stop trying all the other weird and wonderfuls and just use this. I’ve never looked back. 20 years later – yes 20 – and it is still in every bag, car, and work location, and of course bed side. It’s really helped stop lines around my mouth too in my opinion. Just need to find someone to kiss on Valentine’s Day now! Hehehe.
My second would be the Bodyblade. It’s the most ingenious exercise device and suits my body down to the ground. Who knew that a simple six minute regular routine would keep my core so strong. So I love that product too – and who doesn’t love the inventor, our lovely guest Bruce!?
Finally my third most beloved product which I cannot live without is something practical – the It Works blocks. Getting my new Devon base, Retreats For You, lovingly spruced up for new guests is a doddle with this amazing little micro-sponge/scourer. Lovely Sian who helps clean was entranced when I showed her how fast grime is removed compared to other methods. Sad but true, it’s my third love! And we all love Howard our fab guest too.
It was easy falling in love with Adam and Paul from Percy & Reed and it was equally easy to fall in love with their products as they are just so flipping brilliant! I can’t be without the Perfectly Perfecting Wonderbalm, it totally stops my hair from frizzing as naturally I am curly, well, wavy… and it just looks messy if I leave it so I need to blow dry it smooth. Wonderbalm not only helps the blow dry but it maintains the smoothness of my hair no matter what the weather does, truly a miracle must have!!
I’m not afraid to admit that I am a complete make-up junkie! I flit around like no one’s business however I think I’m on my fifth re-order of the No Foundation Foundation Serum from Perricone! I swear by it! It’s part of my skincare routine now and I don’t go a day without putting it on. It’s basically a really light foundation but is packed with goodness. It gives a wonderfully light coverage that just makes you look great on those no make-up days (we all cheat a bit, right?) and makes a superb base for when you put your make-up on as you need far less foundation because of it. You have to give it a whirl and because of its intuitive ingredients, whether I am tanned or not is completely irrelevant, it seems to always be the right colour… out of the one bottle!!!
Some things in life are harder than others, and being asked to choose my favourite ever QVC purchase is possibly one of THE hardest! In the last sixteen years that I’ve worked here, I have filled my home and my life with all kinds of wonderful things, so where to begin to make this choice?
Would it be the airing cupboard filled with Northern Nights bedding, and the all important Cozee Home set for these freezing nights? What about my kitchen cupboards filled to the gunnels with Cook’s Essentials, or the freezer where you’d find my stash of The Real Pie Company pies and pasties? That’s before I even mention my Dyson V6 or my coveted Golden Oil and the H2O steam mop!
Don’t even ask me to tell you how many Elemis, Perricone, Liz Earle, Decleor, Gatineau, Alpha-H, Philip Kingsley or Molton Brown products I have in my bathroom because I’ve lost count, and it’s the same story with my make-up! That collection began with Bareminerals and their iconic Nude Beach eyeshadow, but since then Laura Geller, Tarte, It Cosmetics, Becca, Mally, Benefit and many others have taken over the rather limited cupboard space I have remaining.
What about fashion I hear you cry… well that really is tricky. Although amongst my Yong Kim, H by Halston, Joe Browns, Onjenu, Attitudes by Renee, MarlaWynne and best ever pair of trousers from Kim & Co, there is a special place in my heart and my underwear drawer for Vercella Vita, the range of shapewear that was such a huge help to me after my many surgeries.
But in truth it is the Diamonique range of jewellery that has been a constant source of joy to me, and to so many other folk I’ve introduced it to. And so, after much soul searching, I’d have to choose the slim band Diamonique eternity ring set that I wear next to my wedding ring and never take off. Just £18 but worth SO much more to me.
So there you have it, a whole a host of products that have our presenters going weak at the knees. Spot any of your own favourites? We’d love to hear about your QVC loves, there’s always room to add a few more things to our own ever-growing lists! Leave a comment below letting us know, we can’t wait to read them.
