Plenty of party outfit ideas

2

We’re already into November and the party season is fast approaching. Whether it’s a simple supper with friends you don’t see often enough but always manage to get together with over Christmas, a special family celebration or a glitzy, glamorous do to see in the New Year, it’s always good to know you have something special to wear.

Given that everything can become a little busy and overwhelming as we get closer to Christmas, I always find its a good idea to prepare early in as many areas that I can, and working at QVC certainly helps me with that. I already have a growing pile of gifts in the cupboard under the stairs and I’ve also been looking at the contents of my wardrobe to make sure I have something for a few special occasions that I’m looking forward to.

Party wear can be so many things – sequins and sparkle will always fit the bill (and we have plenty of choice, just type ‘sequin’ in the search bar on our website qvcuk.com) but a more simple look can be lifted with some statement costume jewellery. A lacy dress might be your style, and we have those in stock at QVC right now, but many people prefer to wear trousers with a pretty top – we have some gorgeous choices available at the moment. I’ve chosen a few outfits to be photographed in at QVC (you may recognise our lovely Christmas trees from on air but I’m also in the presenter lounge and the backstage area) and I’m hoping you might like one or two of them. Take a look and see what you think…

I love the easy simplicity of this Join dress, which has ribbed detail in the sleeves and pockets. Its movement makes you want to dance! Add some unusual jewellery like this Zacasha Leaf Tassel Necklace, and you can go anywhere in it!

I went to the best ever party last Christmas…the wedding of my beloved daughter Rebecca. I wore Frank Usher to the church and felt very special, with the faux fur head band and the faux fur trimmed cape.

This sparkly top from Michele Hope is so fluid and comfy to wear, and adds just the right amount of glamour for a night out. I’d wear it with my favourite black skinny jeans and heeled ankle boots but it would work just as well with a smart skirt or velvet trousers.

Lace is perfect to wear at Christmas time, (well, any time of year really) and no one does it better than Ronnie Nicole. Several of the QVC presenters have this dress below – you could be seeing a lot of it in the coming weeks, either in this rich teal with black detail or in a lovely Christmassy red. My earrings and bracelet are by Frank Usher.

Alison Young saw me in this glamorous Bob Mackie top and immediately ordered it for herself! It really doesn’t need much in the way of jewellery – a stunning stand alone piece which is also available in gold, and comes with the long sleeved top to wear underneath.

Made from fluid burnout velvet, this Ronni Nicole top  has a lovely longer line curving over the bottom and would be great with jeans for a smart/casual night out, but add some Frank Usher jewellery such as these clip-on rose earrings and long necklace and a sparkling bag and it’s fit to take you to any party.

This has to be one of my favourite jackets ever – it’s by Trinny and Susannah and makes me feel really special! It looks just as good over a longer length white shirt but I decided to really go for it with some Frank Usher jewellery including a necklace, earrings, magnetic crystal bracelet and crystal friendship bracelet. Christmas here I come!

If none of these is quite what you’re looking for, I have a few more ideas to set you off on a look around our website. Kim Mendelson was here on Monday November 7th and there’s plenty to love in her new collection. I can’t promise how much will be left in stock after her visit, but have a look at her stunning plain or patterned velvet tunic and trousers , a striking foiled jumpsuit and top, and a cosy faux fur bolero. A selection from other designers include a floaty devore velvet coverup from Join Clothes, a sleeveless burnout velvet top with a lovely back from Andrew Yu or, for a more casual but stylishly festive look, the sparkling reindeer top from Quacker Factory.

I hope you find something that fits your occasion, and that occasion is one to remember!

Take care,

With best wishes
