Our countdown to Christmas has begun!

Catherine and Pixie enjoying a furry slanket Pixie in a bag
Hi everyone.

Can you believe it's already almost November? What with the chill weather moving in, I've started indulging in the warmth of a new and extravagantly plush slanket. As you can see (left), Pixiecat Huntley loves it too, but also loves the plastic case it came in and had to try it it for size.

Obviously I quickly removed her from it. Crazy cat!

We're only around eight weeks away from Christmas so we're making a head start on getting everything ready in time. I bought the Green Seasons Christmas meat hamper last week so I've already got the dinner sorted – in fact, I bought two! I've even started my prezzie shopping and it feels good to know I won't be doing it all last minute.

We've had some fabulous new shows recently and we've another fabulous new show coming up on Tuesday 23rd October at 3pm: Ecco footwear. You may have spotted these beauties; I've been wearing for the last few weeks.

Ecco ankle bootsLuxuriously soft patent leather and a nice stable, not-too-high heel. They're the most 'glam' in the collection but we have some fabulous practical yet stylish flat boots too. Danish design, style, comfort for nearly 50 years means the brand has an international reputation for reliability and quality. I hope you get time to tune in.

Also on Tuesday we have a very special Honora Today's Special Value offer! The pearls are always gorgeous but the new development in earring fittings from Honora means that your earrings will sit perfectly on the ear! I've been waiting for something like this! Genius idea, so don't miss it if you're tired of your pearls 'drooping' off the ear.

Diamonique pendantMust tell you about Diamonique Day. It's coming up on Friday 26th October. I can't wait as it's one of my favourite jewellery ranges ever. The first piece of jewellery I bought from QVC was a pair of Diamonique studs that I still own and wear to this day. This pendant is my new favourite. How gorgeous! I love it! Can't wait to get all glammed up on Friday.

Last week QVC raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for Breast Cancer Care, all thanks to you shopping with us and making generous donations. A wholehearted thank you. Donations can be made all year round so please remember to continue with your generosity, which is making a massive difference to so many lives.

Our very own Alison Keenan has been battling breast cancer, as many of you know, and was absolutely stunning on the catwalk in the Breast Cancer Care fashion show. I will endeavour to get a blog up soon with photos of the event. What a night.

Time for me to dash off again but here's to another great week ahead at QVC and another week closer to Christmas!

Much love,

Catherine x

Hi Catherine – have been loving the way your hair looks lately, especially when it is curly. I am growing mine at the moment and want to put some curl in rather than it just hang down. What tools do you use to get yours curly but not too old fashioned looking? Thanks, Deb xx

    Hi John,
I must admit that this new slanket is my favourite because its so plush and snuggly. It’s their best yet. Sooo soft and the cats love it, too!

    Hi Lisa,
It’s a good idea to have spares. I often have friends round and its just so handy and fun to pull the slankets out for chilled tv or movie nights. This plush one is the one everyone wants though as its super soft. I didn’t think they could improve on the previous ones but they did! I think I’ll be buying more for Christmas pressies.

    Hi Sylvia,
Wow, a Bengal cat. They are beautiful. Like Husky dogs they are pretty unique as pets, aren’t they? Very special indeed. My cats used to be indoor cats but now I let them out, too. They mostly prefer to slouch around the house, though, and don’t ever stray very far from the food bowls! They do make us smile so much. Funny little companions, aren’t they? My daughter would love a dog but I think cats suit us more as we aren’t around as much as a dog would need us to be. I’d love one too but just take pleasure in friends dogs when I can…almost like a grandparent. I get all the fun and they get the responsibility, ha ha.
    Lots of love,
    Catherine x

    Hi Deborah,
Thanks for the kind comments regarding my hair. I love messing about with hair, nails and make up. I use the large yogi wand mostly but sometimes I use heated rollers, too. The yogi is great once you get the hang of it. Worth persevering with. Hope you get on well with creating loose curls.
