March is here and the daffodils are popping up everywhere… Does this mean spring is coming, or maybe it's already here!
The elephant pictured is one of my favourite treasures. This was given to me by my Mum and was her push-along toy when she was a little girl and before her, the push-along toy of her Dad's when he was a little boy.
We just adore him. However, this elephant has no name, he is simply called 'Elephant' and he sits proudly on our landing at the top of our stairs keeping us safe and sound!
My children love the fact that he's called Elephant and has no official name. The rubber wheels are well worn and the foot rests are now held on by pieces of string!
I thought about giving him a name but I don't think we can as he's simply been 'Elephant' for the last 80 years or so! Its lovely how attached we become to things which hold a special memory or meaning.
I also have this little model of a mole with long arms and legs (looks nothing like a mole to be honest!) which came, I think, from a Christmas cracker when I was a little boy.
Having said that, I'm not one for hoarding things – the loft is empty, unlike the family home back on the Isle of Wight which is jam packed! I'm always seeing Dad pop up there with something else to tuck away… Just in case we need it!
Back to present day – it's been a busy week at QVC. I visited our new premises for the fist time on Tuesday – very swish and modern, I can't wait for 'moving in day' a little later on this year. I feel a little sorry for Dale Franklin as he'll be sharing a dressing room with me!
I'm not sure he knows what he's let himself in for! I'll make it up to him by lending him a tie. I bumped into QVC presenter Anna Cookson on Wednesday. We nearly parted company, taking each others iPads. We need to be careful as we have the same iPad cover. She always looks so well, it must be all that healthy eating and exercise!!
Another busy schedule on air for me coming up. On Monday 5th March I'm on air with beautiful Veronese Jewellery at 5pm and then I'm in the company of Kelly Hoppen at 7pm (I don't think I've told her yet that one of our hamsters chewed through her stunning duvet cover!!!)
Busy, busy busy!
Take care and see you soon
Ps. I'm going to finish my blog this week with a phenomenal fact that took my breath away – and here it is…
'Planet earth travels through space at an amazing 660,000 miles an hour!'
