And the reason?
It seems that the Queen's style influence over Kate, specifically in keeping those hemlines down, has had a positive impact.
The poll, conducted on QVC's behalf by One Poll, found that a third of women asked admit they're now more inclined to choose a longer-length skirt since seeing Kate's Australia and New Zealand tour-drobe - particularly the younger generations.
Nine in ten women even agree that this look is much more classy and confidence-boosting. Over 70% of men asked agreed, preferring the appearance of a longer skirt to a mini. On top of this, over half of the men admitted to judging a woman's outfit when deciding whether she's 'wife material'.
However, boys will be boys and more than 60% of the lads still confessed that short skirts are more likely to grab their attention.
We asked our Head of Fashion Buying, Nicholas Chalkley, what he thought of the royal hemline focus:
"When it comes to style it’s clear to see the Queen’s opinion reigns supreme." Nicholas says, "Under Her Majesty’s careful guidance, Kate has managed to top the style stakes with more women preferring a longer-length style."
The Q Fashion expert suggests that those looking to emulate the look might be well served by the QVC Fashion selection: "Whether you’re looking to replicate Kate’s refined look or just update your wardrobe – we have something to suit every taste and need.”
