On tackling puffy eyes…

SBC Collagen Gel - 215693 Q. Hi Alison, I am 24 and recently noticed I have large puffy bags under my eyes. I'm a newly qualified nurse so do a lot of shift work so my sleeping pattern is not the best. My main problem is that I watch all the skincare shows – Elemis, Gatineau, Decleor – but as they are all promoting their own products they all sound so good and I'm confused as to what would suit me best.

These products are expensive for me so when I buy one for my problem area I want to know it's the most suitable. Can you advise me what you would consider the best range of skincare treatment out there or perhaps the best product for my problem? Many thanks, Louise.

A. If you're looking for something speedy and economical, yet effective, I'd recommend SBC Collagen Gel and SBC Arnica Gel. The Arnica gel can be used as an eye cream to help de-puff your eyes (avoid using any oil around the eye area).

The Collagen gel is fantastic as a moisturiser and helps to plump up your skin. Apply a thick mask of it to your face before you go to bed and it will sink in to leave you with beautifully moisturised skin.

Both of these products will cover your moisturising and anti-ageing concerns, will help de-puff your eyes and are great value too.

    Hi Alison
I try to watch all your shows you are great and your skin is fabulous!! I have used many differnet brands in the past including Liz Earle, Elemis and Decleor. I have gone for a complete change having watched the Gatineau programmes yesterday and have gone for the anti-ageing collections, toner and cleanser. Just need the eye product now – what would you suggest I am 41 my skin is fairly good minimum fine lines around the eye area – but a little baggy!

    Hi Alison
I am 54 and overweight. I have been using Liz earle for around 4 years or so..I have now noticed that my skin is dull and boring looking, and has lost it’s edge..I also have small whitish lumpy areas over my skin and on the odd occasion when one has become very obvious I have had to use a sterile needle to remove the lump. I need some va va voom to my skin and dull looking eye areas what would you suggest and can yo suggest something to stop the small white lumps..Thanks..

    Hi Alison,
I throughly enjoyed your 16 years of beauty and recorded all your slots while I was at work. I am very much in need of your advice. I have a good beauty routine (well I hope I have). I use Liz Earl cleanse and polish at night followed by Elemis Pro Collagen night cream and twice weekly I use Papaya Enzyme Peel. In the morning I use Elemis Melting cleansing gel followed by Pro Collagen Marine cream but my skin still looks very dull and I have very Puffy eyes (not a nice look). I am 51 years old and I have to take very powerful painkillers for chronic back pain, which I am sure takes it toll on my skin. Have you any advice for me? I try to take alot of pride in my appearance and I would love to have a lovely radiant health plump skin without baggy eyes. I use a combination of BM and Malley products.
    I hope you can help

    HELP! Hi Alison
I am over 45 🙂 For the past week I have had really red, itchy & sore eyelids. I have not changed my cleansing regime, an avid user of Elemis, but for some reason I can’t seem to shake this off. I have seen a pharmasist who recommended Dyprobase cream, horrible stuff and isn’t doing a thing to help. I have even stopped wearing any make up, I use bare minerals & have thrown all my brushes out and bought new ones!!!! Would I be ok to use the collegen gel on the eyelids?
    Cheers Gerry

Hi Alison, on Tuesday I had double eye surgery to tighten the muscles around my eyes and correction of ectropion at the age of 47 !!! my eyes are very swollen and bruised. Would you recommend putting an SBC product on my eyelids. To say it’s sore and painful is an understatement but your advice would be great. I can email you a picture if you want, Thanks Sue
