On sun protection for prickly heat sufferers…

Ultrasun SPF30Q. Can you give me some advice on sun protection? I would like to protect my skin from damage but still would like a great tan when I go abroad. Also, my daughter has very pale skin and tends to get prickly heat very easily. Just a small amount of sun and within ten minutes she is red and itchy. Please help.

A. As your daughter has pale skin, it would best if she uses Ultrasun SPF 30 or 50. This is a once-a-day sun protection and it won't make her sweat.
If you do suffer with prickly heat sometimes putting on layers and layers of sunscreen can actually make your skin perspire and that can trigger off prickly heat.

Ideally, because she has fair skin she is better off with the SPF 30 or 50 which has an emulsion texture. Sometimes, people who suffer from prickly heat prefer the gel texture, and this comes in the sports SPF 20. This is still phenomenal protection, but you will tan with it – this will be perfect for yourself.

I am using ultrasun on a daily basis but am confused as to the order of using it. I use decleor oil, then moisturiser and then ultrasun after ,is this correct?

The application tip is confusing: Ultrasun’s own customer care have told me in the past that there must not be any skincare underneath Ultrasun for it to be effective. Reason being that any oil in the skincare(in creams, serums, etc) will block the product from bonding to the skin. They advised me also not to use oil based cleanser prior to application either, for this reason and not to tone even, but if wanted could tone and the rest of my skincare after the 15-20 min period.
If I apply my skincare routine first as you suggest it can be done, it goes against the advice received from Ultrasun customer care. Which one is true, please?

Hi Alison I am totally confused, do I use my serums or decleor oils before ultrasun’s spf30 face cream or after. I have bought the products to use but don’t know what order to use them. Could you please clarify the order it should be used so that the spf30 is still effective.

I’m confused too, I thought is was because you dont perspire that you got prickly heat, i also suffer a great deal! Whilst on holiday in Turkey a couple of weeks ago someone gave me Magicool plus to try and it worked almost immediatley, although it was’nt a preventative but stoped the itching almost straight away!

Alison could you tell me the order in which to apply Ultrasun. I use Gatineau Collagen Serum, eye cream and throat gel. Followed by Gatineau Face moisturiser and neck cream. Where does the Ultrasun Facen protection fit in??
