On applying a Tan Accelerator two weeks before your holiday…

Elemis Tan Accelerator Duo Q: I am going on holiday soon. A while ago there was a suntan lotion you put on two weeks prior to your holiday that helps you tan. Would be obliged if you could help.

Alison: What you need is a Tan Accelerator. It can be used to give your skin a natural-looking tan without having to resort to using sunbeds. When on holiday, it can also be used as an after-sun moisturiser to keep your tan from fading.

We do these from a few different brands, such as a 400ml one from Elemis and Gatineau do one too. The Tan Accelerator ingredient is the same in all of the different brands. The difference is the other skincare ingredients and benefits that each brand offers, as well as the sizes and prices. The Elemis Tan Accelerator gives quite a golden hue to the skin and it can be used instead of a body lotion as well. The same applies to the Gatineau Melatogenine Tan Accelerator.

So, apply two weeks before you go on holiday or if you get one of the salon sizes, just use it every night as a body lotion. In the summer months, this is perfect to use as a body lotion alternative. It will keep your skin soft and hydrated and will prevent your tan from fading too. Such a simple summer trick! If you're worried about tanning – maybe you find it difficult to tan – or if you love tanning, then a Tan Accelerator is your best friend for the summer.

Please remember that it doesn't, however, contain an SPF so you will still need to apply one throughout sunbathing as normal.

I absolutely love this product, I am naturally blonde and tended to burn easily, sometimes ruining my summer. No more! I have used Elemis Tan Accelerator now for a couple of years and can honestly say I wouldnt be without it, it gives me a lovely golden colour, keeps my skin hydrated and my tan even.

Hello Alison, can you please help me. I have recently bought Gatineau tan accelorator to use but I also love SBC collagen gel. Can I use both together? And would I use the gel first or the tan accelorator first?
    Thank you very much
