First, I just wanted to say thanks to the lovely ladies who asked for another short story! Does anyone else feel the same? I'll see what I can do. If so, what age range would your heroine ideally be, who'd you like to read about?
Second, what a week it's been for seeing old faces. First, Ken Hom and Michael diCesare are back on air again, with sell outs I hear! I love Ken – he and I did many a show in the early years at QVC, and both he and Michael haven't been back on again since roughly the same time as I left. That makes it nearly a decade – goodness me, how time flies. Now Ken's back with his fabulous range of cookware including a healthy eating wok.
And Michael's hair care range includes his famous Liquifix. Original viewers may recall Michael being the first stylist to put Alison Young through her paces live on air – his bouffant looked very memorable on her!
John Barrowman is coming to QVC!
Then I find out another face is visiting QVC – John Barrowman will be here with Debbie Greenwood on Friday in the 2pm show. Don't miss it, he's very good and loves QVC I'm told!
Funny thing is, long before QVC moved into the building in Battersea, John was a guest on an entertainment show here. It was called 31West and I was one of the presenters. I remember him telling us he'd lived a long time in America, but still lapsed into his early Scottish accent on the odd occasion. He decided he'd do so for our live interview, but as soon as we went on air it must have deserted him as he came out with the accent we've all grown accustomed to. Anyway, it'd be nice to day hello to him – wonder if he remembers our show.
Finally, this week I hooked up with two of my friends from school – yes, school! I went to Morden Farm Middle School in Surrey, and then on to Willows High, also in Morden. Two mates throughout those school years were Sharon Foreman and Dawn Hill, both of whom have kids about the same age as mine, and are both married and have both lived in the same place since leaving school! Whereas I on the other hand…
Here's a picture of them – it was lovely to do lots of reminiscing! We'd kept in touch on and off over the years, but my seven changes of address had disrupted our contact a bit! Now we're planning a get together for when we're all 50 in a few years time. So if anyone knows someone who went to Morden Farm with us, year of 1975, let me know!
Have a good week, enjoy today's Craft Day and watch out for great new gardening shows to come at weekends.
