Hopes and dreams

New year, new do, new plans?

Happy New Year to you! How was your festive break? Did you eat lots, drink a bit too much and get some time to catch up with friends and family? I did. It was a lovely time, but went too fast. We had ten of us on Christmas Day with my brother cooking, and our Duffy family lunch (Christmas Day no.2) at Fairlawns was fabulous too. So it’s back to it in a flash and it almost seems to me like Christmas never happened. I bought almost everything for Christmas online – my brother loved his Dyson DC58 prezzie to bits. I indulged my girlfriends in lots of lovely beauty, PRAI, Elemis and Josie Maran to name but a few items.

There’s no snow yet, so let’s hope it stays that way for a while eh? So what plans have you got for 2015? Do you make resolutions? I’ve stopped doing that but have decided to try and make more effort to lose some weight, take up some more exercise and try and be more mentally positive about life in general. We’re also considering moving house this year.

My new Bose headphonesSo I nipped out yesterday and got myself a new hairdo. A bit longer than usual. Here’s me waiting for the bus in the freezing cold yesterday. My Bose headphones (a Christmas prezzie from Austen) were like earmuffs! January’s already looking groovy.

I bought mum some tickets to Strictly Come Dancing Live in Birmingham for her Xmas prezzie – she’s a big fan, me not so much but I’m still looking forward to what the live show at the Barclaycard Arena has in store. The winner Caroline Flack is on the bill too and the lovely fellow Brummie and pal, Alison Hammond. Should be a hoot.
