One of the nicest things about coming back onto QVC is reacquainting myself with old brands and old pals. I particularly can’t wait to meet up again with the lovely ladies Tova, Joan Rivers, and Liz Earle, whose skincare I've continued to use for most of the last nine years I’ve been away from QVC!
However, now I’m back I’ve been put on a schedule of catch-ups, training with the various brands – it’s very hectic but I'm loving it! (Some of the training and behind-the-scenes catch-ups, I’ll ask the guys to put up on our new Facebook page – more about that next week!)
I have been specially impressed so far with the nails ranges – ProStrong being the one that’s helping my nails improve at the moment – and of course some of the impressive hair and skincare brands! Gosh, it’s such a joy to be able to find out about so many premium ranges. Philip Kingsley joined me in the shower last week (!) and the comments I got about the shine on my hair that day were amazing. We also go out of our way to find out more about the products for you. And it’s often more of a pleasure than I expected it to be!
On Tuesday, I took a trip to Windsor to see Michaela and do some training for Gatineau. The depth of research that goes into that brand, honestly it’s amazing. I only wish the rules were different about what you can say on TV about how things work and why. The training school has a proper salon and Michaela kindly gave me a lovely treat too. My skin looked wonderful later that day, even if I was a bit spaced out for the rest of the day having had such a lovely relaxing treat!
But the best thing is, especially with collections like this Sunday’s (8th Nov) TSV, you can get the Gatineau feeling in your own home, do your own intensive treatments and save a fortune compared to elsewhere! It's so nice to be able to use products that give great results and to have access to such fabulous advice.
If you want to see Michaela in action, or revisit some of Ali Young’s advice don’t forget to try out the multi-screen option via the red button on your remote and choose Beauty Channel. Or if you switch over to QVC one day and have just missed your favourite hour, you can always press the ‘plus one’ button and watch it all over again!
You never used to be able to do that in the old days, when I was here before. Talking of which, I’m searching the archives to see if I can come up with a couple more bloopers for you – ones I’m allowed to show anyway! Check back each week to find out more!
Have a lovely bonfire night celebration if you haven’t already, and I’ll catch up with you next week!
