Well I’m in! It was all typically stressful but I’m finally in my new home. It’s very ‘bijoux’ so for those who haven’t been aware of my move, it’s a downscale, and much smaller now the kids are gone. As you can see from the top pic, this new lounge is TINY – like, three big paces long before I hit the kitchen part! But it’s cosy and feels like home already, four nights in.
Only five minutes away from my old house and on the same 1850s estate, it’s still got that picture postcard charm, and the garden is lovely and big. The pogs have been made a compound – a real result, since now I don’t have to go play poo-detective, and Patch won’t eat all my vegetables and strawberries! Lol. Plus it’s safe – much safer than trying to make the full perimeter escape dog proof! In fact, the dogs seem very happy with their new ‘terrace’ – at least there’s not too much mud!
Another fabulous bonus about this new place is that there is a HUGE bath and I mean HUGE! It’s so deep, that if I filled it, Gracie (my fat-dog) could swim in it! Lol! Plus the outside utility room is so handy – with a sink – I’ve always wanted a sink in a utility room… simple things, eh!
The move itself was made easier cos I had tons of help from family – the lads – David, Dave and Nick – even managed to bring my little shed without dismantling it, funnily enough putting it in place in new garden just before the fencing guys were done. Meaning they helped by rolling it along on fence posts a la Stonehenge! Even funnier, one of the two fencing guys was also called Dave. Imagine the scene – funny! And I managed the grand total of a whopping 16,000 steps on the old pedometer too – super!
At the end of the day we all repaired to the local pub where I bought everyone a drink – was very nice to have a breather before the next lot began. We were soooo lucky with the weather – it poured all day on Friday and also the day after it rained too, on Sunday!
I’m very pleased most of all that I’ve managed to get rid of so much stuff. And yes, of course much of it has gone to charity shops or just been thrown away (in case my sis and daughter and mum are watching – no, I didn’t go back through the bin bags after you’d left! Hah!) But a few belters of household, beauty and many new or nearly new books and QVC clothes are going to my table-top sale which is nearly upon us. The sale will help raise funds for the Medical Detection Dogs – such a brilliant job they do – see below. And I’ve been asked if I’d like to offer some really amazing prizes for a ‘megs-draw’ which you can take part in online even if you can’t come, meaning the chance of winning something superb, or you can just donate if you prefer, via Just Giving. (at time of writing we are only about £30 off our target!)
Talking of dogs (again) the other lovely thing I just discovered is that at the end of the row of houses I’m now in, there’s a wonderful woodland walk – a bit like the forest in the ‘Return of the Jedi’. And there’s a mobile signal there! Whoo hoo!
It’s been weird being without any communication with the outside world for a week. It really made me realise how much my head is in social media instead of in the moment. This week I’ve resumed my meditation more frequently as a result and been listening to the radio – well, I can’t get telly or anyfink till Sky come to fit on Monday! Will be interesting on Sunday this week (2nd) since my road is one of the Surrey ones being closed for the cycle racing … again. This time I won’t even be able to walk the dogs but I’ll get lots of writing done. Now I’m settling in, it’ll be easier to get back to my upcoming novel ‘French or Dutch’ – once the final box is offloaded… theoretically! Lol!
Anyway it’s now Thursday afternoon, and having had a non-stop week which also included working extra (get well soon Chloe, I’m doing Saturday 1st now too) and also included my annual Nuffield Health Check medical (see below) I’m off to Ikea to find some rugs. I’m toying with the idea of buying one of those huge sheepskin ones just to wind up my daughter… I’ll report back next week by which time I will hopefully have Sky, wi-fi, curtains and pictures on the walls!
Getting there eh?!?
By the way – I’m sending some exclusive video clips in this week’s newsletter, which you can sign up for on my website www.debbieflint.com if you’re interested!

“I purchased a chiffon maxi dress last year on eBay only to find it was too tight as a size medium… Tried it on again and it’s actually a bit loose! #feelingMoti
Sneaky Peek! And more about the new ‘Pulsaderm’ facial treatment device which includes a special applicator just for your makeup – you know how sponges and brushes are all the rage at the mo for applying foundation? You just wait and see how smoothly it goes on using the Pulsaderm sponge! My sis Linda Bignell is the guest and her skin looks amazing after using it to deep cleanse and also to push premium creams into the skin too. I’ve been using it myself too and it’s really compact – bijoux like my new house! And my sister! Haha!
Healthy Check Glad to say my body sailed through the annual Nuffield 360 Check with flying colours, including some improvements on last year. It felt like getting a gold star back at school – haha! Most pleasing was that my body fat has gone down 2% – brilliant! I’m now under 29 for the first time in years – at my worst I was about 36%, before I began Freedom Eating in 1999. I’ve got to have a follow-up on a couple of minor issues but the major ones were great – go Bodyblade! Go, good-diet. Go, me. Phew!
Book of the Week – Lynda Renham’s ’50 Shades of Roxie Brown’ She’s done it again! Lynda is such a good author and her titles always make me smile. Her latest is a parody on the obvious but done in her usual madcap unpredictable way. Roxie Brown’s hilarious crime-busting romantic adventure follows her heroine’s love of erotica, Roxie’s boss and of solving mysteries, and is just out at only £1.99 on Amazon. It’s doing really well in the Kindle charts – already up in the 700s in the UK. Find out more from Lynda here. And on my book blog Read it Write it Sell it here.
Watch – lots of old films to reminisce over when my TV is all set up! Til then, here’s another fab blooper from this week on QVC. I’m off all next week for the move but I’m excited to see the QVC China team some of whom are visiting next Thursday night! By the time I write again I WILL have settled in completely with no more boxes to unpack! That’s my goal!

This weekend on QVC I’mm doing an extra shift on Saturday and am really pleased to announce it’s the new Laura Geller Today’s Special Value! I’m hoping it hasn’t sold out as it’s a superb kit as usual – do join us all day including at 11am with me and 4pm too. In between, there’s the Aurora’s fab jewellery which I was wearing on Monday and Tuesday nights – really pretty faceted Swarovski crystal pendulum style pendant and earrings amongst others. Then I’m off all week settling into new home. I’m dreaming of packing boxes at the moment so the sooner the better!
Have a great week!
