Leighton Denny - All That GlittersWe have some fabulous new beauty coming up this month – perfect for the festive season and for treating friends and family. Here's a little peek at what you can look forward to – make sure you check back as there's more to come!

Leighton Denny All That Glitters Collection
Leighton Denny has given us a beautifully boxed collection of four nail varnishes that not only look like precious jewels but will help you create the ultimate accessory of a high glamour manicure with Leighton’s unmistakeable sophisticated style.

Whilst this year has seen lots of nail art and textures which can be fun, they are sometimes difficult to wear in an elegant way. Leighton has taken this trend and encapsulated it with nail varnish infused with special-effect glitter to give a more solid, even finish that has a more grown-up look.

Within the kit, I Am Diva is like an iceberg waterfall of sparkling silver and diamonds and two coats give full coverage. Free Love is this season’s new fashion colour of winter pink, but with a Christmas twist of high shimmer. One coat can go over the top of other nail varnishes or two to three coats for a full encrusted look.

Temptress is a very sophisticated play on a combination of a dark chocolate nail varnish with rose gold and bronze glitter that cleverly creates a special effect with the stroke of a single brush that will go with many of the patterned fashions that are out this season and blend blacks and browns with neutrals.

Glitz and Glamour is a beautiful, warm bronze and gold with some flashes of peach and rose gold. One coat can be used as an overlay or two to three coats for a full bodied finish. These could be the perfect way to dress up your little black dress and certainly as a Christmas gift idea, when you open the box, they have the ‘wow’ factor!

Laura Geller Professional Brush Collection - 203585Laura Geller Professional Brush Collection
Laura has been coming over to us for many years now and is always brilliant at presenting her products with applicators, and sometimes in the past, with mini brush sets. On our USA visit, we discovered in the Manhattan artistry studio, her full size Pro Brushes that all her artists work with, so I am thrilled to be able to showcase them in this collection.

Full-size brushes are always an investment in quality and should last you for many years. Laura has cleverly named the brushes for ease of use and they come with their plastic pro tops on, which, if you are tidy, you should keep so that your brushes, especially when you travel and roll them up, are kept in shape.

When you are not travelling the brushes are best kept standing up in a mug or pot and it is recommended that you wash them weekly in your hair shampoo or Australian Body Care Antiseptic Skinwash and leave standing up to dry naturally after the excess moisture has been taken out with a towel. An easy trick, especially in winter months, is to pop them in the airing cupboard overnight.

The brushes include a concealer brush for detail work around the nose, underneath the eye etc. an angled liner/brow brush which can be used both wet and dry, especially with your baked eye rims to get soft or intense looks. The eye shadow brush, which has a flat, square shape, so again can be used for the baked wet look for strong metallic looks. The blending eye brush is best for dry work.

My personal favourite is the sponge paddle double-ended highlighter brush. The smaller pointed end can be used with her famous Vanilla and Portafino Highlighters to name but a few for brow detailing, eye highlighting, nose straightening, and cupids bow highlighting, and the chunky paddle end, for applying the baked highlighters on the top of the cheeks and the clavicle and neck line.

There is a beautiful acute angled blush brush which will allow you to get the perfect apple shape with your baked blush. A large powder brush, which can be used for finishing powders or final complexion blending and there is a complexion stippling brush which is the studio application technique for any of Laura’s liquid foundations.

The final complexion brush is the Kabuki brush which works brilliantly with all the baked products that she is so renowned for the world over. These stylish brushes are dressed in the signature black and red house colours that Laura has become so famous for.

Check back later this month for more new beauty.

It is most annoying to be shown New colours from Leighton Denny when you live in Spain and cannot order them.
